ヨハネ12:27-28（新改訳JSS2017）　「今わたしの心は騒いでいる。何と言おうか。『父よ、この時からわたしをお救いください』と言おうか。いや、このためにこそ、わたしはこの時に至ったのだ。父よ、御名の栄光を現してください。」すると、天から声が聞こえた。「わたしはすでに栄光を現した。わたしは再び栄光を現そう。」

コメント

イエスはご自分の前にあるものを理解していました。これから十字架に向かい、父なる神の御心と目的を果さなければならないことを知っていました。これは人間にとって最も苦しい困難なことに直面することになることも分かっていました。心が騒いでいることを認めました。でも、この時の反応は、「父よ、御名の栄光を現してください」でした。このことだけを求め、自分を委ねました。山上の垂訓のなかで、イエスは教えたことを実践していました。「まず神の国と神の義を求めなさい。そうすれば、これからのものはすべて、それに加えて与えられます」（マタイ6:33 JSS2017）。へブル書には、「ご自分の前に置かれた喜びのために、辱めをものともせずに十字架を忍び、神の御座の右に着座されたのです」（へブル12:2 JSS2017）。また、へブル書には私たちは雲のように多くの証人に囲まれていると教えています。しかし、これらの方も、苦難を忍び信仰によって神に信頼して戦い抜かれたことを教えています（へブル11章と12:1参照）。パウロも主なる神に対して信頼し、神が約束されたこと、今働いていることも、これから働かれることも信頼していると宣言しています。「あなたがたの間でよい働きを始められた方は、キリスト・イエスの日が来るまでにそれを完成させてくださること、私は確信しています」（ピリピ 1:6 JSS2017; 7-11節も参照）。ダビデは祈りました。「わたくしのたましいは　ひどく恐れおののいています。主よ　あなたはいつまで――。主よ　帰ってきて　わたくしのたましいを助け出してください。あなたの恵みのゆえに」（詩篇6:3-4 JSS2017;　詩篇77篇なども参照）。主に信頼するものは揺り動かされることはない（詩篇125:1参照）。

Joh 12:27-28 NLT  “Now My soul is deeply troubled. Should I pray, ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But this is the very reason I came! 28 Father, bring glory to Your name.” Then a voice spoke from heaven, saying, “I have already brought glory to My name, and I will do so again.”

Observation

Jesus knew what was before him.  He knew that he was going to the cross to accomplish the will and purpose of His Father God.  He knew it would be the most difficult thing a human being had ever faced.  He acknowledges that his heart (soul) is very troubled but knows that this is the very reason he is God become man.  His response is, “Father glorify your name.”  That is the only thing which he desires and to which he commits himself. He said in the Sermon on the Mount. “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.　Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” (Matt 6:33-34 ESV).  Hebrews tells us, “Who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Heb 12:2 ESV)  In fact, the writer of Hebrews tells us we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses who endured many things but fought the fight of faith and persevered because they trusted the Lord God to work everything out for the glory of God (see Heb 12:1). Paul declares his trust in what God is and will do. “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Phil 1:6 ESV; see also v.7-11) David prayed, “My soul also is greatly troubled. But you, O LORD—how long? 4 Turn, O LORD, deliver my life; save me for the sake of your steadfast love.” (Psa 6:3-4 ESV; see also Psa 77 etc.). Those who trust in the Lord shall not be shaken (see Psa 125:1)
