ヨハネ14:27（新改訳JSS2017）　わたしはあなたがたに平安を残します。わたしの平安を与えます。わたしは、世が与えるのと同じようには与えません。あなたがたは心を騒がせてはなりません。ひるんではなりません。

（リビングバイブルJCB） 　あなたがたに贈り物をあげましょう。あなたがたの思いと心を安らかにすること、それがわたしの贈り物です。わたしが与える平安は、この世のはかない平安とは比べものになりません。だから、どんな時にもおろおろしたり、恐れたりしてはいけません。

この時は弟子たちにとって非常に不安いっぱいの夜でした。イエスは自分が裏切られると言われました。そして、死によって彼らからとられるともほのめかしました。この不安な状況の中でイエスは彼らに言いました。「わたしはあなたがたに平安を残します。わたしの平安を与えます。」イエスは「平和の君」とも呼ばれています（イザヤ9:6参照）。これまでどんなに嵐のような状況の中にあっても、イエスは完全に平安そのものを持っていたことを見てきました（マルコ4:39など参照）。ここで彼らに（また私たちに）イエスが持っておられた平安（シャローム）を与えると約束していました。「わたしの平安を与えます。」パウロはこのように教えています。「何も思い煩わないで、あらゆる場合に、感謝をもってささげる祈りと願いによって、あなたがたの願い事を神に知っていただきなさい。そうすれば、すべての理解を超えた神の平安が、あなたがたの心と思いをキリスト・イエスにあって守ってくれます」（ピリピ 4:6-7 JSS2017）。これは以前にも神がご自分の民に約束、宣言された平安です（民数記6:26参照）。イエスはよみがえられた後、弟子たちに現れた時にも言いました。「平安があなたがたにあるように」（ヨハネ20:21,26 JSS2017）。へブル書は宣言しています「永遠の契約の血による羊の大牧者、私たちの主イエスを、死者の中から導き出された平和の神が、あらゆる良いものをもって、あなたがたを整え、みこころを行わせてくださいますように」（へブル13:20-21 JSS2017）。パウロはまたコロサイの聖徒たちに言いました。「キリストの平和が、あなたがたの心を支配するようにしなさい。．．．また、感謝の心を持つ人になりなさい」（コロサイ3:15 JSS2017）。イザヤも約束しました。「あなたは全き平安のうちに守られます。その人があなたに信頼しているからです。いつまでも主に信頼せよ。ヤハ、主は、とこしえの岩だから」（イザヤ26:3-4 JSS2017）。

Joh 14:27 ESV  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Observation

This was a very turbulent and unsettling night for the disciples.  Jesus has just said, that he is going to be betrayed. He also has given thinly veiled indication that he is going to be taken from them and die. In the midst of this uncertainty Jesus says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.”  He is called “The Prince of Peace” (see Isa 9:6).  They have seen Jesus in the most difficult situation be at complete peace (see Mark 4:39 etc.).  Now he is promises them (and us) his peace (Shalom).  “My peace I give to you.” Paul tell us, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. 7Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (Phil 4:6-7 NLT) This was the peace promised to and declared to God’s people (see Num 6:26).  After Jesus resurrection he once again said, “Peace be with you.” (John 20:21,26).  Hebrews declares, “Now may the God of peace…equip you with all you need for doing his will.  May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to Him.”  Paul said to the Colossians, “And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state]” (Col 3:15 AMP)  Isaiah also promises, “You will keep in perfect peace him whos mind is steadfast, because he trust in you.  Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord is the Rock eternal.” (Isa 26:3-4 NIV84)
