ヨハネ 17:2-3 （リビングバイブルJCB）　地上のすべての人を支配する権威をわたしに下さったので、こうして、あなたから任せられた一人一人に、永遠のいのちを与えられるのです。 3ただ一人のまことの神であるあなたと、あなたがこの地上にお遣わしになったわたしを知ること、それが永遠のいのちを得る道です。

コメント

この箇所はまたカギとなる中心的なみことばであり、イエスはだれであるか、この地に来られた目的何であったかをヨハネは明らかにしています。イエスは神の子であり、三位一体の第2に神格であり、この地上に人間としてこられたことを明確に語っています（ヨハネ1:14; 3:16-21,36; ピリピ 2:5-11なども参照）。この地上で生きられ、人として死なれましたが（完全で、罪のないものとして）、三日目に神の子としてよみがえられました。イエスが来られたのは和解と贖いの道を成立するだけではなく、私たちにこの驚くべき、輝かしい救いを提供するために来られました。イエスご自身が言いました。「わたしが道であり、真理であり、いのちなのです。わたしを通してでなければ、だれも父のみもとに行くことはできません。あなたがたがわたしを知っているなら、わたしの父をも知ることになります。今から父を知るのです。いや、すでにあなたがたは父を見たのです」（ヨハネ14:6－7JSS2017）。後にヨハネは手紙の中でまた言いました。「すでに神の御子を信じているあなたがたにこのように書き送るのは、あなたがたが永遠のいのちを持っていることを、よく自覚してもらいたいからです」（1ヨハネ5:13 JCB）。 パウロも私たちに、いかにしてこの救い（永遠のいのち）を得ることができるかを説明しています。「なぜなら、もしあなたの口でイエスを主と告白し、あなたの心で神はイエスを死者の中からよみがえらせたと信じるなら、あなたは救われるからです」（ローマ10:9 JSS2017）。他に道はありません！イエスはここで、父なる神と親しく、親密に祈られているのを弟子たちは聞きながら、イエスが神の御子であることの意味だけではなく、自分たちも、神の子となる意味を理解できました。

Joh 17:2-3 TPT  You have already given me authority over all people so that I may give the gift of eternal life to all those that you have given to me. 3 Eternal life means to know and experience you as the only true God, and to know and experience Jesus Christ, as the Son whom you have sent. 

Observation

This is another central verse to what John is trying to say about who Jesus is and what his purpose in coming to earth was. Jesus is the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity who came to earth, born as a man (see also John1:14; 3:16-21,36; Phil 2:5-11).  He lived and then will die as a man (the perfect, sinless man) but will be raised as the Son of God.  He came to not only make a way of reconciliation and redemption for man but offers us this glorious gift.  Jesus had said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” (John 14:6-7 NIV84).  Later in his letters, John says it this way, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” (1John 5:13 NIV84).  Paul tells us how we can have this eternal life and be saved. “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Rom 10:9 NIV84). There is no other way!  As Jesus is praying this intimate prayer to the Father, the disciples are listening and learning what it means that Jesus is the Son of God and what it means to be a child of God the Father.
