ヨハネ19:5-7（新改訳 JSS2017）　イエスは、茨の冠と紫 色の衣を着けて、出て来られた。ピラトは彼らに言った。「見よ、この人だ。」 6 祭司長たちと下役たちはイエスを見ると、「十字架につけろ。十字架につけろ」と叫んだ。ピラトは彼らに言った。「おまえたちがこの人を引き取り、十字架につけよ。私にはこの人に罪を見出せない。」 7ユダヤ人たちは彼に答えた。「私たちには律法があります。その律法によれば、この人は死に当たります。自分を神の子としたのですから。」

ローマ帝国の権威者ピラトの前にイエスは連れ出されました。ユダヤ人の祭司たちと指導者は、イエスが神の子と自称していると言って、十字架刑を求めていました（ヨハネ1:34；10:36など参照）。ただの人間でありながら、自分を神の子とするのは冒涜に値しますが、しかし、事実神の子であって、それを認めないことは、真理を拒むこととなります。イエスは弟子たちとともにいたとき、彼らにたずねました。「あなたがたは、わたしをだれだと言いますか。」シモン・ペテロが答えた。「あなたは生ける神の子キリストです」（マタイ16：15-16 JSS2017）。後にマルタも告白しました。「はい、主よ。私は、あなたが世に来られる神の子キリストであると信じております」（マタイ16：15-16 JSS2017）。これは非常に重要で、私たちの救いがかかっています。ヨハネは手紙の中で、このように言いました。「神の御子を信じる者は、その証しを自分のうちに持っています。神を信じない者は、神を偽り者としています。神が御子について証しされた証 言を信じていないからです。11その証しとは、神が私たちに永遠のいのちを与えてくださったということ、そして、そのいのちが御子のうちにあるということです。12御子を持つ者はいのちを持っており、神の御子を持たない者はいのちを持っていません」（1ヨハネ 5:10-12 JSS2017）。

Joh 19:5-7 AMP So Jesus came out wearing the thorny crown and purple cloak, and Pilate said to them, See, [here is] the Man! 6 When the chief priests and attendants (guards) saw Him, they cried out, Crucify Him! Crucify Him! Pilate said to them, Take Him yourselves and crucify Him, for I find no fault (crime) in Him. 7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and according to that law He should die, because He has claimed and made Himself out to be the Son of God.

Observation

Jesus has been brought before Pilate the Roman authority.  The Jewish priests and leaders are demanding that Jesus be crucified for claiming to be the Son of God (see John 1:34; 10:36).  If he were not the Son of God and yet claimed to be so, it would indeed be blasphemy.  But if he is truly the Son of God, then by rejected it, would be rejecting the truth. It actually comes down to whether we will accept the truth or not. Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do you say that I am?”  Peter replied, “ You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” (Matt. 16:15-16 ESV). Later Martha declared, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.” (John 11:27 ESV).  This is very important.  Our salvation depends on it. John wrote in his letters, “Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. 11 And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1John 5:10-12 ESV)
