民数記 3:45 「イスラエルの子らのすべての長子の代わりにレビ人を、また彼らの家畜の代わりにレビ人の家畜を取れ。レビ人はわたしのものでなければならない。わたしは主である。

最初の分（者）は全て主のものです。持ち物であっても（什一）生まれる者であってもです（レビ記 27:26; ネヘミヤ10:36; 箴言3:9-10参照）。神がイスラエルをエジプトから救い出されたときに、エジプト人の初子を打ちましたが、イスラエル人たちは神にすぎこしの子羊をささげたので、イスラエルの初子を生かされました。ここでもう一度初子は神のものであると主張していますが、レビ人をその初子の変われに受取り、仕えさせると言っています。これは神がご自分の初子（独り子）を私たちの身代わりとして、ささげられたことを描写しています（マルコ10:45; 1テモテ 2:6など参照）。新約聖書において、くりかえし私たちは贖われた者であると言っています（ガラテヤ3:13-14; テトス 2:14; 1ペテロ1:18なども参照）。私たちは代価をもって買い取られた（贖われた）ことを忘れてはなりません。「あなたがたはもはや自分自身のものではありません。あなたがたは、代価を払って買い取られたのです。ですから、自分のからだをもって神の栄光を現しなさい」（1コリント 6:19-20 JSS2017）。私たちは永遠にこの歌を歌います。「彼らは新しい歌を歌った。「あなたは、巻物を受け取り、封印を解くのにふさわしい方です。あなたは屠られて、すべての部族、言語、民族、国民の中から、あなたの血によって人々を神のために贖い、私たちの神のために、彼らを王国とし、祭司とされました。彼らは地を治めるのです」（黙示録 5:9-10 JSS2017）。

Num 3:45 NIV84  “Take the Levites in place of all the firstborn of Israel, and the livestock of the Levites in place of their livestock. The Levites are to be mine. I am the LORD.

Observation

The first part of everything belongs to the Lord, whether it is possessions (tithe)  or offspring (see Lev 27:26; Neh 10:36; Pro 3:9-10).  When God delivered Israel out of Egypt, he killed all the Egyptian firstborn but not the firstborn of the Israelites because they had offered the sacrifice Passover lamb.  Here again God lays his claim to the firstborn but declares that he will take the Levites in their place to serve before him.  This is a picture of how God has redeemed each of us and given His first (Only Son) as a ransom for us (see Mark 10:45; 1Tim 2:6). NT also says we have been redeemed (see Gal 3:13-14; Tit 2:14; 1Pet 1:18 etc.).  We must always remember that we have been bought with a price. “You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. (1Co 6:19-20 ESV)  Here is the song we will sing for eternity. “And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, 10 and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” (Rev 5:9-10 ESV)
