民数記 4:24-26; 31-33 （新改訳JSS2017）　ゲルション人諸氏族のなすべき奉仕と運ぶ物は次のとおりである。25幕屋の幕、会見の天幕とその覆い、その上に掛けるじゅごんの皮の覆い、会見の天幕の入り口の垂れ幕を運び、26また庭の掛け幕、幕屋と祭壇の周りを取り巻く庭の門の入り口の垂れ幕、それらのひも、およびそれらに用いるすべての用具を運び、これらに関係するすべての奉仕をしなければならない。
31 会見の天幕での彼らのすべての奉仕の中で、彼らが任務として運ぶ物は次のとおりである。幕屋の板、その横木、その柱とその台座、32庭の周りの柱と、その台座、杭、ひも、これらの備品と、その奉仕に使うすべての物である。あなたがたは、彼らが任務として運ぶ備品を、名を挙げて割り当てなければならない。33 これが会見の天幕でのすべての仕事に関するメラリ人諸氏族の奉仕で、これは祭司アロンの子イタマルの指揮下にある。」

コメント

レビ族の中には三つの諸民族（家系）がありました。ゲルション諸民族、ケハテ諸民族、メラリ諸民族。アロンとその家系（祭司たち）はケハテ諸民族の属していました。これらの諸民族は幕屋の務めと管理において、それぞれ明確な責任と義務が割り当てられていました。この箇所では二つの諸民族、ゲルション族とケハテ族に任じられていることが記録されています。ゲルション諸民族は幕屋の覆いと外庭の掛け幕とそれにかかわる用具などの責任が与えられました。メラリ諸民族には幕屋の板、横木、その台座、外庭の幕の柱とその台座また綱の責任が与えられました。「これらに関係するすべての奉仕をしなければならない。」と命じられました。また、「彼らが任務として運ぶ備品を、名を挙げて割り当てなければならない。」と指示されました。新約において、同じ真理が適用されていますが、パウロは体の実例を用いています。「一つのからだには多くの器官があり、しかも、すべての器官が同じ働きをしてはいないように、5大勢いる私たちも、キリストにあって一つのからだであり、一人ひとりは互いに器官なのです。6 私たちは、与えられた恵みにしたがって、異なる賜物を持っているので、それが預言であれば、その信仰に応じて預言し、7奉仕であれば奉仕し、教える人であれば教え、8勧めをする人であれば勧め、分け与える人は惜しまずに分け与え、指導する人は熱心に指導し、慈善を行う人は喜んでそれを行いなさい」（ローマ 12:4-8 JSS2017； １コリント12:14-21も参照）。私たち一人一人神から任されていることの責任を負わせられています。私たちが忠実に、かつ、責任を持ってこれを果すときに神の栄光と臨在が現わされます。

Num 4:24-26 NIV84  “This is the service of the Gershonite clans as they work and carry burdens: 25  They are to carry the curtains of the tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting, its covering and the outer covering of hides of sea cows, the curtains for the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, 26 the curtains of the courtyard surrounding the tabernacle and altar, the curtain for the entrance, the ropes and all the equipment used in its service. The Gershonites are to do all that needs to be done with these things.
Num 4:31-33 NIV84  This is their duty as they perform service at the Tent of Meeting: to carry the frames of the tabernacle, its crossbars, posts and bases, 32 as well as the posts of the surrounding courtyard with their bases, tent pegs, ropes, all their equipment and everything related to their use. Assign to each man the specific things he is to carry. 33 This is the service of the Merarite clans as they work at the Tent of Meeting under the direction of Ithamar son of Aaron, the priest.”

Observation

There were three families in the Levite tribe: Gersonites, Kohathites, and Merarites. Aaron and the Priesthood were out of the Kohathite clan.  Each of these clans were assigned specific responsibilities and duties regarding the Tabernacle and assisting the Priests in serving and caring for the Tabernacle, the dwelling place of the presence of God.  In this section we see the assignment for the two clans of Gershon and Merari.  Gershonites were responsible to carry and care for the curtains of the Tabernacle and the courtyard.  The Merarites were responsible mainly for the structural frames and their bases and some of the ropes.  They are told, “to do all that needs to be done with these things.” And to “Assign to each man the specific things he is to carry.”  Under the New Covenant the same truth applies but Paul uses the analogy of the body. “Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. 7 If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8 if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.” (Rom 12:4-8 NIV84; see also 1Cor 12:14-21 etc.)  We are each responsible for what God has entrusted to us.  When we faithfully fulfill our responsibilities God’s glory and presence is revealed.
