Scripture

Num 4:49 AMP According to the command of the Lord through Moses, they were assigned each to his work of serving and carrying. Thus they were numbered by him, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Observation

The Levites were assigned and commanded to serve the priests and the Tabernacle.  During the journey in the wilderness, part of their responsibility was to carry the Tabernacle and all its furnishings whenever they moved. But they were also assigned to help in the Tabernacle.  David later specified and organized what the Levites would do in the Tabernacle when it was no longer necessary to transport it from place to place (see 1Chro 23:25-32).  This included not only helping to maintain and service the Tabernacle but also worshiping and praising the Lord at the Tabernacle. “They are also to stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord, and likewise at evening.†(1Chro 23:30 AMP).  Psalms also reiterates this. “PRAISE THE Lord! (Hallelujah!) Praise the name of the Lord; praise Him, O you servants of the Lord! 2 You who stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God, 3 Praise the Lord! For the Lord is good; sing praises to His name, for He is gracious and lovely! 20 Bless the Lord, O house of Levi [the dedicated tribe]; you who reverently and worshipfully fear the Lord, bless the Lord [affectionately and gratefully praise Him]!†(Psa 135:20 AMP).  This ministry to the Lord continues even into the court of heaven and before the Throne.  (see Rev 5:8-14; 7:9-17 etc.).  This is also part of carrying the presence of God.
How does this apply to you?
