民数記 8:14 JSS2017　こうして、あなたはレビ人をイスラエルの子らのうちから分け、レビ人はわたしのものとなる。

神がエジプトの初子をすべて打たれた時、イスラエルの長子（動物をも含む）は過ぎ越しの小羊のいけにえによって守られました。このことから、イスラエルの間で、最初に生まれたものは贖われて（買い戻されて）主のものとなりました。しかし、ここで、神はその長子たちの代わりに、レビ族を自分のものとし、主のために聖別されて、主に仕える者としました。これはイエスが十字架の贖いのいけにえとして私たちのためになさえたことを指し描写しています。パウロは、自分は「神の福音のために選び別たれ（た）」（口語訳）と言ってます（ローマ1:1； ガラテヤ1:15 など参照）。マラキは私たちについてこのように言っています。「そのとき、主を恐れる者たちが互いに語り合った。主は耳を傾けて、これを聞かれた。主を恐れ、主の御名を尊ぶ者たちのために、主の前で記憶の書が記された。17 「彼らは、わたしのものとなる。──万軍の主は言われる──わたしが事を行う日に、わたしの宝となる。人が自分に仕える子をあわれむように、わたしは彼らをあわれむ。18あなたがたは再び、正しい人と悪しき者、神に仕える者と仕えない者の違いを　見るようになる」（マラキ3:16-18 JSS2017）。パウロは私たちに勧めています。「神がこう言われるとおりです。「わたしは彼らの間に住み、また歩む。わたしは彼らの神となり、彼らはわたしの民となる。17それゆえ、彼らの中から出て行き、彼らから離れよ。──主は言われる──汚れたものに触れてはならない。そうすればわたしは、あなたがたを受け入れ、18わたしはあなたがたの父となり、あなたがたはわたしの息子、娘となる。──全能の主は言われる」（２コリント6:16-18 JSS2017）。私たちは主のために選び別れた者です。そのように生きましょう。「あなたがたは知らないのですか。あなたがたのからだは、あなたがたのうちにおられる、神から受けた聖霊の宮であり、あなたがたはもはや自分自身のものではありません。あなたがたは、代価を払って買い取られたのです。ですから、自分のからだをもって神の栄光を現しなさい」（１コリント 6:19-20 JSS2017）。

Num 8:14 NLT In this way, you will set the Levites apart from the rest of the people of Israel, and the Levites will belong to Me.

Observation

The first born of all Israelites (including animals) were spared because of the sacrificial Passover Lamb when God killed all the Egyptian first born.  Thus the first born belonged to God because they had been redeemed (bought back).  Now God says that he is taking the tribe of Levi in place of the first born of Israel.  The Levites are set apart (separated) for service to the Lord.  This is another picture of what Jesus has done for us by his atoning, redemptive sacrifice on the cross.  Paul refers to himself as one who was “set apart” unto the Lord (see Rom 1:1; Gal 1:15  etc.). Malachi says this way about those who are set apart to the Lord. “Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the LORD and honored his name. 17 “They will be mine,” says the LORD Almighty, “in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him. 18 And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.” (Mal 3:16-18 NIV84).  Paul encourages us, “As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” 17 “Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” 18 “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” We have been separated unto the Lord.  Let’s live that way. “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.” (1Cor 6:19-20 NLT; see also 1Pet 1:18 etc.)
