民数記 11:23 （新改訳JSS2017）　主はモーセに答えられた。「この主の手が短いというのか。わたしのことばが実現するかどうかは、今に分かる。」

文句のわめきが宿営全体に広がりました。これはもちろんモーセにとって非常に気がかりとなりました。しかし、それ以上に、神の怒りが引き起こされたので、モーセも非常に辛かったのです（別訳： 腹立たしく思った、不快に思った、苦しんだ）。モーセは民を静めさせる重荷を抱えながら、主と民の間の仲立ちになろうとしていましたが、もう折れそうになりました。主はモーセに言いました。民の欲望を満たすだけではなく、肉が鼻から出てくるまで食べさせると宣言しました。モーセは人間的な理屈をもってそれは不可能であると反論しようとしました（愚かなことです）。私たちは神の全能の力に制限をすることはできません。主は創造主であり、備え主である方です。神があることを宣言されるとどんな人間的な理屈も説明することはできません。主はアブラハムに言いました。「主にとって不可能なことがあるだろうか」（創世記18:14）。主の使いはマリヤに言いました。「神にとって不可能なことは何もありません」（ルカ1:37）。また、イエスご自身は言いました。「それは人にはできないことですが、神にはどんなことでもできます」。神を怒らせることは愚かなことです。私たちの不信仰で神を怒らせることはしないようにしましょう。神が言われたこと、約束されたことを信じて受けとめましょう。どんなに不可能に思えても。主ご自身が語られたことは必ず責任をもって果たされます。「神は人ではないから、偽りを言うことがない。人の子ではないから、悔いることがない。神が仰せられたら、実行されないだろうか。語られたら、成し遂げられないだろうか」（民数記 23:19 JSS2017）。人間的な理屈で理解しようとしないで、ただ主なる神の全能を信頼しましょう。

Num 11:23  The LORD answered Moses, “Is the LORD’s arm too short? You will now see whether or not what I say will come true for you.”

Observation

The sound of complaining and wailing has spread through the whole camp.  This is  of  course concerning to Moses but even more so, it has also raised the Lord’s anger. Moses is now really troubled.  Moses feels the weight of the trying to calm the people and stand as intermediary between them and the Lord.  He is about to break. The Lord tells Moses to tell the people He will answer their lusting desires but to the point they will loathe the meat they think they want. He will make them eat meat until it comes out of their nostrils. Moses tries human reasoning with God (bad idea) that there would be no way to provide enough meat for all the people. But we must never put limits on God’s omnipotence and ability to create and provide.  When God declares that he is going to do something there is no amount of human reasoning that can explain or understand it.  The Lord told Abraham, “Is anything to hard for the Lord?”  (Gen 18:14) The Angel of the Lord declared to Mary, “Nothing is impossible with God.” (Luke 1:37) Jesus said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matt 19:26).   Don’t make God angry with our unbelief but trust and belief what he says.  He is the one who is responsible to fulfill his word and he will do it. “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” (Num 23:19).  Don’t try to figure it out with human reasoning but trust in the Omnipotence of God.
