イエスが最後の晩餐を永遠の記念として定められたとき、全ての詳細まで意図的にされました（ルカ22:19; １コリント11:24-25）。過ぎ越しの食事が記念とするエジプトからの救いと旧約の契約の食事を機会にして、また、その中でつかわれた種なしパンやぶどう酒などの要素を用いてこの記念すべき食事を定めました。しかし、これは契約を定める時に食事が用いられたのは初めてではありませんでした。モーセの契約が成立されたときにも、ほふられた子羊の血を民にふり注がれて言われました。「見よ。これは、これらすべてのことばに基づいて、主があなたがたと結ばれる契約の血である」（出エジプト記 24:8 JSS2017）。それから、モーセとイスラエルの指導者たちは山に登り、神と共に「．．．食べたり飲んだりした」（24:11）。イエスも、新しい契約を成立されたとき、言われました。「これは、多くの人のために流される、わたしの契約の血です」（マルコ14:24 JSS2017）。パウロも説明しています。「ですから、あなたがたは、このパンを食べ、杯を飲むたびに、主が来られるまで主の死を告げ知らせるのです」（１コリント11:26 JSS2017）。また、このように教えられています。「感謝の祈りをささげた後それを裂き、こう言われました。「これはあなたがたのための、わたしのからだです。わたしを覚えて、これを行いなさい。」食事の後、同じように杯を取って言われました。「この杯は、わたしの血による新しい契約です。飲むたびに、わたしを覚えて、これを行いなさい」（１コリント11:24-25 JSS2017）。キリストは新しい契約を通して私たちのためになされたことを決して忘れずに、思いおこしましょう。

Mar 14:22-24 AMP  And while they were eating, He took a loaf [of bread], praised God and gave thanks and asked Him to bless it to their use. [Then] He broke [it] and gave to them and said, Take. Eat. This is My body. 23 He also took a cup [of the juice of grapes], and when He had given thanks, He gave [it] to them, and they all drank of it. 24 And He said to them, This is My blood [which ratifies] the new covenant, [the blood] which is being poured out for (on account of) many. [Exod. 24:8.]

Observation

Jesus is very intentional in every detail of the establishment of the Last Supper which he now institutes as an everlasting memorial (see Luke 22:19; 1Cor 11:24-25).  He uses the occasion of the Passover meal which celebrated the beginning of deliverance and the establishment of the Old Covenant.  He also uses elements of the Passover meal including the unleavened bread and new wine which they would always drink with their meals. But this is not the first time a covenant is established with a meal.  When Moses confirmed the Old Covenant with the people of Israel, he sprinkled the people with the blood of a lamb and said, “Behold the blood of the covenant which the Lord has made with you…” (Exo 24:8 AMP).  Then Moses and the leaders of Israel went up into the mountain and, “…ate and drank.” (Exo 24:11).  Jesus here declares that the New Covenant is establish for which he is about to pour out his blood for many. “This is My blood [which ratifies] the new covenant, [the blood] which is being poured out for (on account of) many.” (v. 24 AMP).  Paul explains, “For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are representing and signifying and proclaiming the fact of the Lord’s death until He comes [again].” (1Cor 11:26 AMP). This is why we are told, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me… “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” (1Cor 11:24-25 NIV84).  Let us always remember and never forget what Christ has done for us through the New Covenant.
