マルコ14:35-36（新改訳JSS2017）　それからイエスは少し進んで行って、地面にひれ伏し、できることなら、この時が自分から過ぎ去るようにと祈られた。そしてこう言われた。「アバ、父よ、あなたは何でもおできになります。どうか、この杯をわたしから取り去ってください。しかし、わたしの望むことではなく、あなたがお望みになることが行われますように。」

コメント

イエスは最も苦しい、危機的などん底の時に直面していました。前に待っていることをよくわかっていて、もうすでに前から、ここの向かって進んでこられたのです。「さて、天に上げられる日が近づいて来たころのことであった。イエスは御顔をエルサレムに向け、毅然として進んで行かれた」（ルカ9:51 JSS2017 ヘブル12:2も参照）。これらはどの人間にも直面したことのないことに立ち向かって、この試練に進むだけではなく、通りぬくことができたのはなぜでしょう。イエスは自分を助けるだけではなく、支えて、抱えてくださる「アバ、父」に心を注ぎだして祈られました。「パパ、お父さん！あなたにはできるのですようね、わたくしをこの時から救い出すことを。しかし、どうか、私の願いではなく、あなたが願われるとおりにしてください」（英訳The Message）。この単純な祈りを繰り返し祈られただけです。「父よ、わたしの父よ。あなたはどんなことでもおできになります。どうぞ、この杯を取り除いてください。しかし、わたしの思いどおりにではなく、あなたのお心のままになさってください」（JCB）。ただ、ひたすら祈られただけです。これだけが自分をこの時に支えて、通りぬかせることを知っていました。そして、弟子たちもこの時にこそ祈らなければいけないことも分かっていました。弟子たちにお願いしました。「しっかり目を覚まして祈っていなさい。さもないと誘惑に負けてしまいます。心は燃えていても、肉体は弱いのですから」（38節 JCB; ルカ21:34-36； １ペテロ 5:8-10も参照）。イエスは自分を助け、支えて、想像もできないほどの苦しみを通らせることのできる方に祈られました（詩篇１２１篇参照）。

Mar 14:35-36 TPT  He walked a short distance away, and being overcome with grief, he threw himself facedown on the ground. He prayed that if it were possible, he would not have to experience this hour of suffering. 36 He prayed, “Abba, my Father, all things are possible for you. Please—don’t allow me to drink this cup of suffering! Yet what I want is not important, for I only desire to fulfill your plan for me.” 

Observation

Jesus is facing his most crucial and deepest time.  He knows what is ahead of him; he has been preparing and walking toward it from the beginning. “When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem.” (Luke 9:51 ESV; see also Heb 12:2).  How was he able to not only face but walk through this trial beyond what any human could possibly face?  He prayed to “Abba, Father”, the only one who could sustain him and carry him through to the completion.  His prayer is desperate but simple, “Papa, Father, you can–can’t you?–get me out of this. Take this cup away from me. But please, not what I want–what do you want?” (MSG).  He prayed intensely and repeated the same simple prayer, over and over again. The Message Bible says, “He plunged into a sinkhole of dreadful agony.”(v.33 MSG). “An intense feeling of great horror plunged his soul into deep sorrow and agony.” (TPT).  And yet, he prayed.  He knew it was the only thing that would carry him through.  Jesus also tried to prepare the disciples. “Keep alert and pray that you’ll be spared from this time of testing. For your spirit is eager enough, but your humanity is feeble.” (v.38 TPT; see also Luke 21:34-36; 1Pet 5:8-10). Jesus prayed to the only one of whom he knew could keep him from this unimaginable suffering, but carry him through it, if necessary (see Psa 121).
