マルコ15:9-13（リビングバイブルJCB）　そこで、ピラトは尋ねました。「『ユダヤ人の王』を釈放してほしいのか。おまえたちが赦してほしいのはこの男か。」10ピラトがこう言ったのは、イエスが捕らえられたのは、彼の人気をねたむ祭司長たちのでっち上げによるとにらんだからです。 11 ところが、祭司長たちも抜かりはありません。たくみに群衆をけしかけ、イエスではなくバラバの釈放を要求させたのです。 12「バラバは釈放するとして、おまえたちが王と呼んでいるあの男はいったいどうするつもりか。」 13「十字架につけろ！」

コメント

人々に選択が与えられました：イエスか、バラバか。イエスはまったく罪のない、潔白な人でした。半面、バラバは暴動に関わった人殺しの犯罪で有罪とされた人でした。しかし、祭司長たちとユダヤの指導者たちは群衆を扇動して、バラバを釈放し、イエスを十字架刑にするように説得しました。後にペテロはこのように説明しています。「この奇跡は、アブラハム、イサク、ヤコブの神様、つまり私たちの先祖の神様が、そのしもべイエスに栄光を与えるためになさったことです。その方を、あなたがたはピラトの面前で、はっきりと拒否しました。ピラトがあれほど釈放しようとしたにもかかわらず。 14このきよく正しい方を自由にしようと考えるどころか、反対に人殺しの男を釈放しろと要求したのです。 15こうして、とうとう、いのちの源である方を殺してしまいました。しかし神様は、この方を復活させてくださいました。ヨハネも私もこのことの証人です。あなたがたが処刑したあと、私たちは確かに、復活したこの方にお会いしたのです」（使徒の働き3:13-15 JCB）。なぜそのようなことをされたかはこのように説明しています。「．．．彼の人気をねたむ．．．」とあります。別訳では「．．．自分たちの私欲のゆえに．．．」（英訳NIV）と訳されています。イエスをねたみ、自分たちの影響力がうすれるのを懸念して、イエスの代わりにバラバを選ばれたのです。しかし、私欲は私たちの滅びに至らせることもあります（箴言 14:12; 16:25参照）。イエスをメシヤとして、救い主であり、主であることをどのようにして認め受け入れるのでしょうか？パウロはこのように言いました。「なぜなら、もしあなたの口でイエスを主と告白し、あなたの心で神はイエスを死者の中からよみがえらせたと信じるなら、あなたは救われるからです。人は心に信じて義と認められ、口で告白して救われるのです」（ローマ 10:9-10　JSS2017）。私欲を選ぶのか、イエスを選ぶのか、どちらを選択しますか？

Mar 15:9,11-13 ESV And he answered them, saying, “Do you want me to release for you the King of the Jews?” 11 But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have him release for them Barabbas instead. 12 And Pilate again said to them, “Then what shall I do with the man you call the King of the Jews?” 13 And they cried out again, “Crucify him.”

Observation

The people were given a choice: Jesus or Barabbas.  Jesus was total innocent and without sin; Barabbas was a convicted murderer who had taken part in an insurrection. The crowd was stirred up by the chief priests and Jewish leaders chose to free Barabbas and to crucify Jesus. Later, Peter explained what they did. “The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered over and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release him. 14 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.” (Acts 3:13-15 ESV).  The reason was, they envied Jesus, NIV says it was out of self-interest.  They chose to have a murderer released to them and deny and crucify the one and only Savior, Messiah whom the Lord God and prepared and sent to them. Why would anyone reject Jesus as Savior, Messiah?  Only because of self-interest.  But ultimately it is not in their interest but leads to their destruction.  What is in the way of recognizing and accepting Jesus as Messiah and Lord? It is the only way to be saved. “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. 13  For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” (Rom 10:9-10, 13 NLT).
