民数記 14:28-29 （新改訳JSS2017）　彼らに言え。わたしは生きている──主のことば──。わたしは必ず、おまえたちがわたしの耳に語ったとおりに、おまえたちに行う。29この荒野におまえたちは、屍をさらす。わたしに不平を言った者で、二十歳以上の、登録され数えられた者たち全員である。

口のことばに気をつけよ！神は、イスラエルが語られた言葉をもって彼らをさばかれました。イスラエルは主なる神の奇跡的なエジプトからの救出、奇跡的な備えと導き、助けを繰り返し見られたのに、彼らは神に文句を言ってとぐちをこぼしました。「われわれはエジプトの地で死んでいたらよかった。あるいは、この荒野で死んでいたらよかったのだ。なぜ主は、われわれをこの地に導いて来て、剣に倒れるようにされるのか。妻や子どもは、かすめ奪われてしまう。エジプトに帰るほうが、われわれにとって良くはないか」 （14:2-3 JSS2017）。それに対して神は答えて宣言しました。「わたしは必ず、おまえたちがわたしの耳に語ったとおりに、おまえたちに行う。この荒野におまえたちは、屍をさらす。わたしに不平を言った者で、二十歳以上の、登録され数えられた者たち全員である」（14:28-29 JSS2017）。詩篇の詩人はこの時のことをこのように語られました。「彼らは　自分たちの救い主である神を忘れた。エジプトで大いなることをなさった方を。22ハムの地で奇しいみわざを 葦の海のほとりで恐るべきみわざを行われた方を。23それで神は　「彼らを根絶やしにする」と言われた。もし　神に選ばれた人モーセが　滅ぼそうとする激しい憤りを収めていただくために　御前の破れに立たなかったなら　どうなっていたことか。24しかも彼らは尊い地を蔑み 神のみことばを信じず 25自分たちの天幕の中で不平を言い 主の御声を聞かなかった。26それで主は彼らにこう誓われた。彼らを荒野で打ち倒し…」（詩篇106:21-26 JSS2017）。ダビデは祈りました。「私の口のことばと　私の心の思いとが　御前に受け入れられますように。主よ　わが岩　わが贖い主よ」（詩篇19:14 JSS2017; 詩篇141:3も参照）。

Num 14:28-29 NIV84  So tell them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the LORD, I will do to you the very things I heard you say: 29 In this desert your bodies will fall—every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me.

Observation

Watch the words of your mouth!  God used the very words the Israelites spoke in grumbling Him to judge them.  In their unbelief and distrust of the Lord God who had miraculously delivered them and provided time and again with miracles, the Israelites said, “If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this desert! Why is the LORD bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?” (14:2-3 NIV84)   So the Lord told them that is exactly what will happen. “’As surely as I live, declares the LORD, I will do to you the very things I heard you say. 29 You will all drop dead in this wilderness! Because you complained against Me, every one of you who is twenty years old or older and was included in the registration will die…”‘You said your children would be carried off as plunder. Well, I will bring them safely into the land, and they will enjoy what you have despised. 32 But as for you, you will drop dead in this wilderness.” (v.28-29, 31-32NLT).  The Psalmist reiterates this situation. “They totally forgot it was you who saved them by the wonders and awesome miracles you worked in Egypt. 23 So you were fed up and decided to destroy them. But Moses, your chosen leader, stood in the gap between you and the people and made intercession on their behalf to turn away your wrath from killing them all. 24 Yet they still didn’t believe your words and they despised the land of delight you gave to them. 25 They grumbled and found fault with everything and closed their hearts to your voice. 26 So you gave up and swore to them that they would all die in the desert. “ (Psa 106:21-26 TPT).  David prayed, “So may the words of my mouth, my meditation-thoughts, and every movement of my heart be always pure and pleasing, acceptable before your eyes, my only Redeemer, my Protector-God.” (Psa 19:14 TPT; see also Psa 141:3).
