民数記 17:8(新改訳JSS2017)　 その翌日、モーセはあかしの天幕に入って行った。すると見よ。レビの家のためのアロンの杖が芽を出し、つぼみをつけ、花を咲かせて、アーモンドの実を結んでいた。

コメント

主はアロンを神の選びの大祭司であること、アロンの子孫はモーセの幕屋の祭司の家系となることを最終的に決定されました。各部族の長はそれぞれ自分の杖に名前を刻み差し出されました。モーセはこれらの杖を幕屋の中に置かれている契約の箱の前に置きました。翌朝それらの杖を持ち出されたとき、アロンの杖は芽を出していただけではなく(命の象徴)、同じ枝（杖）に花のつぼみ、咲いている花、それにアーモンドの実がなっていました。自然界では同時にはありえないことでした。これはまさに、神の全能のよみがえりのいのちの現れでした。再びアロンは神の選びの大祭司であることを誰も疑うことができないためでした。後に、主は預言者を通して預言されました。死んだようなエッサイの根株から新芽が、若枝が出て、実を結ぶ(イザヤ11:1参照；ゼカリヤ 3:8; 6:12も参照)。これはまた、よみがえりのいのちによってのみ可能であり、死んだものからいのちが出る。イエス・キリストは聖霊の力によって死者の中からよみがえらせられて、メシヤであること、救い主であることを証明されました。しかし、この同じいのちが私たちの内にも働き、どんなに死んだものであったとしても、よみがえらせ、いのちにあふれさせるのです(ローマ8:11参照)。また、私たちも、いのちの幹イエスにつながっているなら、実を結ぶ者となります。「わたしはぶどうの木、あなたがたは枝です。人がわたしにとどまり、わたしもその人にとどまっているなら、その人は多くの実を結びます。わたしを離れては、あなたがたは何もすることができないのです。7あなたがたがわたしにとどまり、わたしのことばがあなたがたにとどまっているなら、何でも欲しいものを求めなさい。そうすれば、それはかなえられます。8あなたがたが多くの実を結び、わたしの弟子となることによって、わたしの父は栄光をお受けになります。9父がわたしを愛されたように、わたしもあなたがたを愛しました。わたしの愛に留まりなさい」（ヨハネ 15:5,7-9 JSS2017）。

Num 17:8 NIV84 The next day Moses entered the Tent of the Testimony and saw that Aaron’s staff, which represented the house of Levi, had not only sprouted but had budded, blossomed and produced almonds.

Observation

The Lord now is going to settle once and for all his choice of Aaron as the High Priest and the house of Aaron as the priestly lineage for the Tabernacle of Moses.  Each leader representing each tribe of Israel brought their staff with their names carved into them.  Moses took the 12 staffs and placed them before the Ark of the Covenant, the Lord God’s holy presence.  The next morning when Moses retrieved the staffs, Aaron’s staff had not only sprouted (a sign of life), but on the same branch, at the same time had buds, blossoms, and fully ripe almonds.  This would be incomprehensible in the natural world. The is a sign of God’s powerful resurrection life. God wanted to make sure they could not question his choice of Aaron as his priest.  Later, the Lord prophesied through the prophets that there would come “a Branch” which would sprout from the (dead) stump of Jesse, that would bear fruit (see Isa 11:1; also Zech 3;8; 6:12).  The only way this is possible is by resurrection life that works in something that was once dead.  The power of the Holy Spirit worked to raise Jesus from the dead, thus proved that He was indeed the Messiah, the Savior of the world.  But this is also the same life that works in us, no matter how dead we are (see Rom 8:11).  And we will also bear fruit if we are fully grafted into the Tree of Life, Jesus Christ. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” (Joh 15:5,7,8 NIV84). This is the proof that “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 17 This is my command: Love each other.” (John 15:16-17 NIV84).
