民数記 20:25-26（新改訳JSS2017）　あなたはアロンと、その子エルアザルを連れてホル山に登れ。アロンの衣服を脱がせ、それをその子エルアザルに着せよ。アロンは自分の民に加えられ、そこで死ぬ。」

コメント

アロンは主によって最初の大祭司として神の幕屋に仕えるために選ばれましたが、死すべき人間であり、その死ぬ時がやってきました。しかし、神はこの時のためにすでに備えをしておられました。大祭司の地位と務めは次の世代に継承されなければなりませんでした（出エジプト記 29:29-30参照）。大祭司アロンは私たちの永遠に変わることのない大祭司、イエス・キリストをひな型として指していました。私たちは今、死ぬことのない、いつまでも大祭司として神の前で私たちのためにとりなしてくださるイエス・キリストがいるのです。「また、レビの子らの場合は、死ということがあるために、務めにいつまでもとどまることができず、大勢の者が祭司となっていますが、24イエスは永遠に存在されるので、変わることがない祭司職を持っておられます。25したがってイエスは、いつも生きていて、彼らのためにとりなしをしておられるので、ご自分によって神に近づく人々を完全に救うことがおできになります。26このような方、敬虔で、悪も汚れもなく、罪人から離され、また天よりも高く上げられた大祭司こそ、私たちにとってまさに必要な方です」（へブル 7:23-26 JSS2017）。これはへブル書を通して教えられている重要な真理の一つです（へブル7:11; 8:1; 9:23-26; 10:11-22など参照）。ゆえに今、私たち「あたらしい生ける道」によって自由に、大胆に、神の御座に近づくことができるのです。「ですから躊躇せず、神の御座に近づいてあわれみを受け、時にかなって与えられる恵みをいただこうではありませんか」（へブル 4:16 JCB）。

Num 20:25-26 NIV84  Get Aaron and his son Eleazar and take them up Mount Hor. 26 Remove Aaron’s garments and put them on his son Eleazar, for Aaron will be gathered to his people; he will die there.”

Observation

Although Aaron was chosen by the Lord to be the first High Priest to minister in the Tabernacle of Moses, he was a mortal man and his time had come for him to die.  But the Lord had made provision for the position and role of the High Priest to be passed on to the next generation (see Exo 29:29-30).  Thus the vital role of the High Priest could continue on.  However, Aaron was only a type that pointed to our eternal, permanent High Priest.  We now have a High Priest who will not died but remain a High Priest forever for us before God, Jesus Christ. “Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; 24 but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. 25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. 26 Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.” (Heb 7:23-26 NIV84). This is one of the main truths which the book of Hebrews emphasizes (Heb 7:11, Heb 8:1, Heb 9:23-26, Heb 10:11-22 etc.).  We now have “a new and living way” by which we can come boldly before the Throne of God. “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” (Heb 4:16 NLT)
