民数記 27:16-17（新改訳JSS2017）　「すべての肉なるものの霊をつかさどる神、主よ。一人の人を会衆の上に定め、彼が、彼らに先立って出て行き、先立って入り、また彼らを導き出し、導き入れるようにしてください。主の会衆を、羊飼　いのいない羊の群れのようにしないでください。」

コメント

主はモーセに、「自分の民に加えられる」と気がもうやがて近づいていると言いました。モーセは主に、そのときにはイスラエルを導き「彼らに裂き立って出て行き、先立って入り、また彼らを導き出し、導き入れる」人を会衆のために定め、「主の会衆を、羊飼　いのいない羊の群れのようにしないでください。」と頼みました。もちろん、主はこれからヌンの子ヨシュアをその人となることを指名されたことを知っています。しかし、これはさらに、先にメシヤとして現れイエスがその羊飼いとなることも預言的に語っていました。イエスご自身は自分のことを、「わたしは良い羊飼い」と宣言されました。そして言いました。「羊たちはその声を聞き分けます。牧者は自分の羊たちを、それぞれ名を呼んで連れ出します。羊たちをみな外に出すと、牧者はその先頭に立って行き、羊たちはついて行きます。彼の声を知っているからです。．．．わたしはわたしのものを知っており、わたしのものは、わたしを知っています」（ヨハネ 10:3-4,14　JSS2017）。しかし、彼らはイエスを拒絶されたので、彼らはまさに羊飼いのない羊であるとみられました（マタイ9:36；マルコ6:34など参照）。ペテロは後に私たちに促しています。「あなたがたは羊のようにさまよっていた。しかし今や、自分のたましいの牧者であり 監督者である方のもとに帰った」（1ペテロ 2:25 JSS2017）。ダビデも主を羊飼いとして知っていました。「主は私の羊飼いですから、必要なものはみな与えてくださいます。2-3主は私を豊かな牧草地にいこわせ、ゆるやかな流れのほとりに導いて行かれます。主は傷ついたこの身を生き返らせ、主の栄光を現すことができるよう、私を助けてくださいます」（詩篇23:1-3 JCB）。あなたの羊飼いを知っていますか? 近くで後を追っていますか?

Num 27:16-17 ESV  “Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation 17 who shall go out before them and come in before them, who shall lead them out and bring them in, that the congregation of the LORD may not be as sheep that have no shepherd.”

Observation

The Lord tells Moses that his time is about up and that he will “be gathered to your people.”  Moses asks the Lord to appoint someone to lead Israel as he has done, after he is gone. He asks that the Lord would appoint a man, “to go out and come in before them, one who will lead them out and bring them in, so the LORD’s people will not be like sheep without a shepherd.” (NIV84)  Of course we know that the Lord specifically names Joshua son of Nun to be that man to follow Moses but Moses is also prophetically speaking about the Messiah who would ultimate be Israel’s Shepherd.  Jesus spoke of himself in these terms, saying, “I am the Good Shepherd.” And  “the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice…I know my sheep and my sheep know me.” (John 10:3-4, 14 NIV84). Jesus also saw Israel as “sheep without a shepherd, because they had rejected him as their Shepherd (see Matt 9:36; Mark 6:34). Peter later tells us, “For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.” (1Pet 2:25 NIV84).  David also knew his Shepherd, “The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need. 2 He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams. 3 He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to His name.” (Psa 23:1-3 NLT).  Do you know your Shepherd?  Are you following him closely.
