民数記 30:1-2(新改訳JSS2017)　 モーセはイスラエルの諸部族のかしらたちに告げた。「これは主が命じられたことである。2男が主に誓願をするか、あるいは、物断ちをしようと誓う場合には、自分のことばを破ってはならない。すべて自分の口から出たとおりのことを実行しなければならない。

コメント

真実さ、誠実、信用性などは主なる神の特徴です、また私たちにも要求されることです。主と主のことばは真実です、誠実です(民数記 23:10; 詩篇111:7など参照)。指導する者として選ばれる者は誠実で忠実なものでなければなりません（出エジプト記 18:21; 1テモテ 3:11など参照）。しかし、主なる神は私たちすべてのものに同じことを求めておられます。イエスも言いました。「また、昔の人々に対して、『偽って誓ってはならない。あなたが誓ったことを主に果たせ』と言われていたのを、あなたがたは聞いています。34しかし、わたしはあなたがたに言います。決して誓ってはいけません．．．37あなたがたの言うことばは、『はい』は『はい』、『いいえ』は『いいえ』としなさい。それ以上のことは悪い者から出ているのです」（マタイ5:33-34,37 JSS2017）。主が約束したことは多くあります。誓いを立てて言われたこともありますが、誓わなかったとしても、真実で誠実なお方です。聖書の一番最後に約束された一つのことばはこれです。「すると、御座に座っておられる方が言われた。「見よ、わたしはすべてを新しくする。」また言われた。「書き記せ。これらのことばは真実であり、信頼できる」（黙示録 21:5 JSS2017）。英語のビジネス世界では信用を現すとき、このような表現があります。”A man’s word is good as his bond.” (男の約束は証文と同じ)。日本語のことばで、「武士に二言なし」とあります。私たちは互いにこのような言動でふるまい、互いに信頼を期待すべきです。

Num 30:1-2 NLT  Then Moses summoned the leaders of the tribes of Israel and told them, “This is what the LORD has commanded: 2 A man who makes a vow to the LORD or makes a pledge under oath must never break it. He must do exactly what he said he would do.

Observation

Truth, veracity and being trustworthy are qualities of the Lord God himself and he demands it of us also. The Lord is trustworthy and so is his word (see Num 23:10; Psa 111:7 etc.).  Those who are chosen as leaders must be trustworthy (see Exo 18:21; 1Tim 3:11 etc.). But the God expects everyone of us to also be trustworthy. Jesus spoke to this, “You have also heard that our ancestors were told, ‘You must not break your vows; you must carry out the vows you make to the LORD.’ 34  But I say, do not make any vows!… 37 Just say a simple, ‘Yes, I will,’ or ‘No, I won’t.’ Anything beyond this is from the evil one.” (Matt 5:33-34, 37 NLT).  The Lord God has promised and even swore many things and there is no word He will not keep. But his word is true and trustworthy whether he swears it or not. One of his last promises is, “He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” (Rev 21:5 NIV84).  The saying, “A man’s word is his bond” expresses how we should conduct ourselves and what we should expect from one another as Christians brothers and sisters.
