詩篇78:70-72（リビングバイブルJCB）　そして、ダビデをしもべとして選び、彼を羊飼いの仕事場から、71-72子羊を連れた雌羊の番をしていた場所から　召し出されました。イスラエルの羊飼いとなったダビデは、すぐれた手腕と真心をもって、人々を導きました。

コメント

神ご自身がダビデをイスラエルの王となり、羊飼いとして選ばれました。それはダビデが何かすぐれていたからでもなく、何かをされたからでもない。ただ忠実に任された父の羊の番をされたからです。また、神とその道に対する真心と真の礼拝者であったからイスラエルの王、羊飼いとして選ばれたのです。みことばはこのように証しています。「神は彼らのために王としてダビデを立て、彼について証しして言われました。『わたしは、エッサイの子ダビデを見出した。彼はわたしの心にかなった者で、わたしが望むことをすべて成し遂げる』」（使徒の働き 13:22 JSS2017）。イエスは弟子たちにも言いました。「あなたがたがわたしを選んだのではなく、わたしがあなたがたを選び、あなたがたを任命しました。それは、あなたがたが行って実を結び、その実が残るようになるため、また、あなたがたがわたしの名によって父に求めるものをすべて、父が与えてくださるようになるためです」（ヨハネ15:16 JSS2017）。パウロは私たちにも言っています。「そればかりでなく、神のご計画のままに、神のものとなるように最初から選ばれていた私たちは、神が喜んでくださる存在となっています」（エペソ 1:11 JCB）。また言っています。「愛する皆さん。あなたがたが神に選ばれ、愛されていることを、私たちはよく知っています」（1テサロニケ 1:4 JCB）。ペテロはこう言っています。「あなたがたは選ばれた種族、王である祭司、聖なる国民、神のものとされた民です。それは、あなたがたを闇の中から、ご自分の驚くべき光の中に召してくださった方の栄誉を、あなたがたが告げ知らせるためです」（1ペテロ２:９ JSS2017）。なぜ神は私たちを選ばれたのでしょうか? 「しかし神は、知恵ある者を恥じ入らせるために、この世の愚かな者を選び、強い者を恥じ入らせるために、この世の弱い者を選ばれました。有るものを無いものとするために、この世の取るに足りない者や見下されている者、すなわち無に等しい者を神は選ばれたのです」（1コリント1:27-28 JSS2017）。神の計画と目的のためであり、神の栄光が私たちを通してあらわすために私たちを選ばれました。

Psa 78:70-72 NLT He chose His servant David, calling him from the sheep pens. 71 He took David from tending the ewes and lambs and made him the shepherd of Jacob’s descendants—God’s own people, Israel. 72 He cared for them with a true heart and led them with skillful hands.

Observation

God is the one who chose David to be shepherd and king of Israel. It was not because of what he had done but because of who he was, a faithful shepherd of his father’s sheep. Also we know he had a heart for God and his ways, he also was a worshiper before he was ever chosen to be the king and Shepherd of Israel. Scripture testifies to this, “…he made David their king. He testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’” (Acts 13:22 NIV84).  Jesus told the disciples, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide…” (John 15:16 ESV).  Paul tells us, “In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will.” (Eph 1:11 NIV84).  Also Paul said, “For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you.” (1Thes 1:4 NIV84).  Peter says it this way, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” (1Pet 2:9 NIV84).  Why did God chose us?  “But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are.” (1Cor 1:27-28 NIV84).  It is all about God and his plan and purpose and his glory that he is wanting to reveal through us.
