詩篇79:8,9,13 （新改訳JSS2017）　先祖たちの咎を私たちのものとして思い出さないでください。あなたのあわれみが　速やかに私たちを迎えるようにしてください。私たちは　ひどくおとしめられているのです。 9私たちの救いの神よ　私たちを助けてください。御名の栄光のために。私たちを救い出し　私たちの罪をお赦しください 。13私たちは　あなたの民　あなたの牧場の羊です。私たちは　とこしえまでもあなたに感謝し　代々限りなく　あなたの誉れを語り告げます。

コメント

この詩篇は多分バビロン軍によって、エルサレムとその神殿が滅亡され焼き尽くされたときに書かれたものだと思われます。この詩人は心折れて悲しみの中で書いています。ユダヤ人と、神の臨在と栄光を現されたこのエルサレムの都、その中にある神殿に死と破滅が注がれました。その原因は自分たちと父祖たち（先祖）たちの罪であることを認めながらも、神のあわれみと慈悲が現わされるようにと懇願しています。しかし、それは自分たちが受けるに値する者、ふさわしい者だからではなく、ただ、神の御名の栄光と誉のために現わしてくださいと願っています。特に、国々の間でその御名が知られ、あがめられるためにと言っています。ここでアサフはもう一度自分たちを「あなたの民、あなたの牧場の羊」と言っています。それは自分たちも、神に感謝しほめたたえることができるためだと言っています。「そうすれば、神の民である私たちは、いつまでも感謝し、のちのちまであなたの偉大さをほめたたえるでしょう」（13節 JCB）。私たちはどのような状況の中にあっても、それは私たちの罪の結果であれ、他の人の罪の結果であれ、どんな原因であったとしても、主なる神、永遠の羊飼いである、主のあわれみと慈悲を呼び求めることができます（出エジプト記 33:19; 2コリント6:2なども参照）。

Psa 79:8,9,13 NLT  Do not hold us guilty for the sins of our ancestors! Let Your compassion quickly meet our needs, for we are on the brink of despair. 9 Help us, O God of our salvation! Help us for the glory of Your name. Save us and forgive our sins for the honor of Your name. 13 Then we Your people, the sheep of Your pasture, will thank You forever and ever, praising Your greatness from generation to generation.

Observation

This Psalm was most likely written about the time of the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple by the Babylonians.  The psalmist is heartbroken at the destruction and death that has been inflicted on the Jews and their city and the Temple which once symbolized the very presence and glory of God.  He acknowledges their sins and the sins of their ancestors as the reason,  but ask for mercy and compassion, not because they deserve it but only for the glory and honor of His name, especially among the nations. Once again Asaph refers to themselves as “the sheep of your pasture” and his desire to, “Thank you over and over and over. We’ll tell everyone we meet how wonderful you are, how praiseworthy you are!” (MSG).  No matter what situation we face whether as a result of our own sins or those of our forefathers, or even otherwise, we can always call on the compassion and mercy of our Lord God, who is our Savior and our eternal Shepherd (see Ex 33:19; 2Cor 6:2).
