詩篇84:1-2（新改訳JSS2017）　万軍の主よ　あなたの住まいは　なんと慕わしいことでしょう。 2私のたましいは　主の大庭を恋い慕って　絶え入るばかりです。私の心も身も　生ける神に喜びの歌を歌います。

コメント

この詩篇は神の住まい（神の家）とその臨在を恋い慕って、心の奥深くからの願いを美しく、心込めて表現されています。主の住まいと臨在に比べるもの、変えるものは何もありません。詩人は空の鳥が神殿の一隅などに巣を設けているのを見て、うらやましく思っています。この詩人はコラの子でダビデの幕屋、そしてソロモンの神殿などで音楽隊、賛美隊を務めていたものです。彼らはそれぞれの当番で代わる代わる主の臨在の前で賛美し礼拝していましたが、この詩人は主の臨在を離れることなく常にその場所にいたいと言っています。さらに、他のところに千日いるよりも、神の臨在の中に一日でもいたいと言っています。そのようにできるためには主の家のしもべ、門衛にでもなれたらと考えました。そして、主なる神に対する確信と信頼をこのように歌っています。「まことに　神である主は太陽　また盾。主は恵みと栄光を与え　誠実に歩む者に良いものを拒まれません。万軍の主よ　なんと幸いなことでしょう。あなたに信頼する人は」（11-12節 JSS2017）。私も全くアーメンです。

Psa 84:1-2 NLT How lovely is Your dwelling place, O LORD of Heaven’s Armies. 2 I long, yes, I faint with longing to enter the courts of the LORD. With my whole being, body and soul, I will shout joyfully to the living God.

Observation

What a beautiful expression of the longing of the heart to be in God’s house and in His presence.  There is nothing that can compare. The Psalmist sees the birds that seem to be able to find nesting places in the nooks and crannies of the Temple edifice and expresses his enviousness.  The Psalmist is of the “sons of Korah” who were part of the musicians and singers in the Tab of David and then also in the Temple of Solomon. They took turns ministering before the Lord but here he says, he would rather always be able to be in the presence of the Lord and not have to leave.  But he goes on to say that even one day in the presence of the Lord is better than many thousands elsewhere outside of his presence.  He would even be happy if he were only able to be a servant and doorkeeper in the House of God.  He ends the psalm with an expression of trust and confidence, “For the LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. O LORD of Heaven’s Armies, what joy for those who trust in You.” (v.11-12 NLT) All I can say is “Amen!”
