 詩篇89:1-2 （新改訳JSS2017）　私は　主の恵みを　とこしえに歌います。あなたの真実を代々限りなく私の口で知らせます。2私は言います。「御恵みは　とこしえに打ち立てられ　あなたはその真実を　天に堅く立てておられます。」

（口語訳）主よ、わたしはとこしえにあなたのいつくしみを歌い、わたしの口をもってあなたのまことをよろずよに告げ知らせます。 2 あなたのいつくしみはとこしえに堅く立ち、あなたのまことは天のようにゆるぐことはありません。

コメント

この箇所でつかわれている「恵み」（JSS2017） 、「いつくしみ」（口語訳）、「優しいお心づかい」（JCB）は原語（へブル語）では（ヘセッド）ですが、旧約を通して何百回も使われていることばです。主なる神の性質の重要な特質です。このことばは様々な意味を持ち訳されています。「優しい、親切、愛顧、善意、誠実、あわれみ、いつくしみ、恵み」を表す言葉です。詩篇の中で、この詩では二番目に多く使われていますが、一番多く使われているのは詩篇136篇です（26回）。その詩はこのように始まります。「主に感謝せよ。主はまことにいつくしみ深い。主の恵みはとこしえまで。神の神であられる方に感謝せよ。主の恵みはとこしえまで。主の主であられる方に感謝せよ。主の恵みはとこしえまで」（詩篇136:1-3 JSS2017）。くりかえされている表現は「そのいつくしみはとこしえに絶えることがない」（口語訳）。詩篇89篇の中心テーマは神がダビデに約束された栄光輝く永遠の王権である。これはイエス・キリストによって最終的に成就されます（黙示録11:15参照；　出エジプト記15:8； 詩篇146:10； イザヤ9:6-7； ダニエル7:14,27; へブル1:8なども参照）。この恵みといつくしみは義と公正と共にキリストの王座とつなげられています。「義と公正は　あなたの王座の基。恵みとまことが御前を進みます」（14節 JSS2017）。私たちはどのように応答すべきでしょうか?「幸いなことよ　喜びの叫びを知る民は。主よ　彼らはあなたの御顔の光の中を歩みます」（15節JSS2017）。主の恵みといつくしみ、愛と真は私たちのためにあります。

Psa 89:1-2 (AMP) I WILL sing of the mercy and loving-kindness of the Lord forever; with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness from generation to generation. 2 For I have said, Mercy and loving-kindness shall be built up forever; Your faithfulness will You establish in the very heavens [unchangeable and perpetual].

(TPT) This forever-song I sing of the gentle love of God! Young and old alike will hear about your faithful, steadfast love—never failing! 2 Here’s my chorus: “Your mercy grows through the ages. Your faithfulness is firm, rising up to the skies.” 

Observation

The word used here for “mercy or loving-kindness”, in Hebrew is “hesed” (H2617).  “A masculine noun indicating kindness, lovingkindness, mercy, goodness, faithfulness, love, acts of kindness. This aspect of God is one of several important features of His character: truth; faithfulness; mercy; steadfastness; justice; righteousness; goodness. The classic text for understanding the significance of this word is Psalm 136 where it is used twenty-six times to proclaim that God’s kindness and love are eternal. The psalmist made it clear that God’s kindness and faithfulness serves as the foundation for His actions and His character: it underlies His goodness.” (WordStudy) This word is used repeatedly in this Psalm, 7 times.  Psalm 136 repeats this word 26 times, saying, “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.” (Psa 136:1 ESV).  The theme of this Psalm is describing the glorious reign of David and God’s unfailing promise to make David the mightiest King on earth.  It is ultimately fulfilled in Christ and his eternal reign (see Rev 11:15; also Exo 15:8; Psa 146:10; Isa 9:6-7; Dan 7:14,27; Heb 1:8 etc.). This mercy and loving-kindness is declared to be part of the foundation of Christ’s Throne. “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; mercy and loving-kindness and truth go before Your face.” (v.14 AMP). Here is the response we are to have.  “O Lord, how blessed are the people who experience the shout of worship, for they walk in the radiance of your presence.” (v. 15 TPT).
