詩篇 89:38-39（新改訳JSS2017） しかし　あなたは拒んでお捨てになりました。あなたは　激しく怒っておられます。あなたに油注がれた者に向かって。あなたは　あなたのしもべとの契約を廃棄し　彼の王冠を地に捨てて汚しておられます。

コメント

この厳しいことばは前の文と逆説的なもので、矛盾しているように見えます。「わたしは　わたしの選んだ者と契約を結び　わたしのしもべダビデに誓う。わたしは　あなたの裔(えい)をとこしえまでも堅く立て　あなたの王座を代々限りなく打ち立てる。．．．わたしは決してダビデに偽りを言わないと。36彼の子孫は　とこしえまでも続く。その王座は　太陽のように　わたしの前にあり　３７月のように　とこしえに堅く立つ」（３-４、３５-３７節）。この詩篇の最初を思い出してください。「私は　主の恵みを　とこしえに歌います。あなたの真実を代々限りなく私の口で知らせます」（１節）。主はダビデと契約を結び（１サムエル13:14；使徒の働き13:22など参照）、ダビデが主の心のかなった人であったので約束を与えました（のちにはダビデは大きな罪も犯しましたが、その後、神に立ち返りました。ダビデの子孫も神に背を向けましたが、最終的には悔い改めず、神に立ち返りませんでした。その結果、神は一時的にその恵みの御手を取り上げました。神が契約を忘れられた、破られたようにも見えました。この詩篇の箇所はそれを言及しています。しかし、神は実に忠実な、誠実なお方であるので、決して、約束や契約を破られるお方ではありません。預言者たちを通してもどのようになされるのかが告げられました（イザヤ1:1,10など）。また、マリヤに御使いが現れたときに言いました。「30恐れることはありません、マリア。あなたは神から恵みを受けたのです。31見なさい。あなたは身ごもって、男の子を産みます。その名をイエスとつけなさい。32その子は大いなる者となり、いと高き方の子と呼ばれます。また神である主は、彼にその父ダビデの王位をお与えになります」（ルカ 1:30-32 JSS2017）。パウロも言いました。「さらにまたイザヤは、「エッサイの根が起こる。異邦人を治めるために立ち上がる方が。異邦人はこの方に望みを置く」　と言っています」（ローマ15:12; 8-13参照）。この詩人はなぜこのような矛盾があるか、これから先はどうなるかはみえていませんでした。でも、主に全てを委ねて、この詩篇をこのように括られています。「主は　とこしえにほむべきかな。アーメン、アーメン」（52節）。

Psa 89:38-39 ESV  But now you have cast off and rejected; you are full of wrath against your anointed. 39 You have renounced the covenant with your servant; you have defiled his crown in the dust.

Observation

This is in direct contradiction to the proceeding verses. “3 You have said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one; I have sworn to David my servant: 4 ‘I will establish your offspring forever, and build your throne for all generations.'” …34 I will not violate my covenant or alter the word that went forth from my lips. 35 Once for all I have sworn by my holiness; I will not lie to David. 36 His offspring shall endure forever, his throne as long as the sun before me.” (Psa 89:3-4, 34-36).  Remember the first verse of this Psalm. “I will sing of the steadfast love of the LORD, forever; with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.” (v.1)  The Lord God has made a covenant and promise to David because of his heart after God (“a man after my own heart (see 1Sam 13:14; Acts 13:22).  But David was a mortal man and made grievous mistakes (although he repented and returned to the Lord.) His descendants also turned from the Lord and did not return with all their heart. As a result the Lord lifted his hand of mercy for a season and it looked like he had rejected His covenant. This is what this portion of the Psalm is about.  But God is a faithful God and he cannot break covenant.  He speaks through his prophets repeatedly what He will do (see Isa 11:1,10 etc.). The angel declared to Mary, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” (Luke 1:30-33 ESV)  Paul picks this up and ties it all together. “And again Isaiah says, “The root of Jesse will come, even he who arises to rule the Gentiles; in him will the Gentiles hope.” 13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” (Rom 15:12-13; see v.8-13).  This is why at the end of this Psalm, even though the Psalmist does not understand or see the final outcome and sees only the contradiction, he declares anyway, “Blessed be the LORD forever! Amen and Amen.” (v.52 ESV).
