1テモテ6:11‐12（リビングバイブルJCB）　テモテよ。あなたは神に仕える者です。ですから、これらすべての悪から逃れて、正しく良いことに熱心に励みなさい。神を信頼し、人を愛し、忍耐強く、ものやわらかな態度を身につけ、 12信仰のために戦い続けなさい。神から与えられた永遠のいのちを、しっかり握っていなさい。あなたは、この永遠のいのちについて、多くの証人の前で堂々と告白したのです。 

コメント

パウロはテモテに三つのことを実行するように命じました。「．．．熱心に励みなさい（追い求めなさい(JDB)）．．．戦い続けなさい．．．しっかり握っていなさい。」信仰は受動的なものではなく能動的な、積極的な態度であり、神の約束と目的に応答するものです。私たちはまず、「神を信頼し、人を愛し、忍耐強く、ものやわらかな態度」(JCB) （「義と敬虔と信仰、愛と忍耐と柔和」 JDB）を追い求めなければなりません。さらに、「信仰の戦いを立派にたたか(わなければならない)」（JDB）。パウロは自分についても言っています。「私は勇敢に戦い抜き、走るべき道のりを走り終え、信仰を守り通しました」(2テモテ 4:7 JDB)。その目的と行き着くところは「神から与えられた永遠のいのちを、しっかり握(る)」と言うことです。パウロは自分も同じようにしていると証しました（ピリピ3:12-14参照）。私たちは人生をこのように生きて行くべきです．．．「主イエス・キリストが再び来られる時まで」(14節 JCB)。

1Ti 6:11-12 NLT  But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have confessed so well before many witnesses.

(TPT) Timothy, you are God’s man, so run from all these errors. Instead, chase after true holiness, justice, faithfulness, love, hope, and tender humility. 12 So fight with faith for the winner’s prize! Lay your hands upon eternal life, for this is your calling—celebrating in faith before the multitude of witnesses! 

Observation

Paul tells Timothy to do three things: “Pursue…Fight…Hold tight…” (NLT) “chase after…fight…Lay your hands upon…” (TPT).  Faith must not be a passive thing in our life, but an active, aggressive attitude and response to life and to God’s promises and purposes.  We are to pursue righteousness, a godly life, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness (humility, meekness).  We must “fight the good fight of faith”. Faith is a constant battle against unbelief and faithlessness (see Eph 6:10-18 etc.).  Paul declares of himself, “ I have fought the good (worthy, honorable, and noble) fight, I have finished the race, I have kept (firmly held) the faith.” (2Tim 4:7 AMP).  The purpose and goal is to “Lay hold of (Lay your hands upon) eternal life. Paul’s testifies that he is doing the same (see Phil 3:12-14). This is how we should live our life “…from now until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.” (v.14)
