エゼキエル 1:1-3(新改訳JSS２０１７)　 第三十年の第四の月の五日、私がケバル川のほとりで捕囚の民とともにいたとき、天が開け、私は神々しい幻を見た。2それはエホヤキン王が捕囚となってから五年目の時であった。その月の五日に、3 カルデア人の地のケバル川のほとりで、ブジの子、祭司エゼキエルに主のことばが確かに臨んだ。その場所で主の御手が彼の上にあった。

コメント

エゼキエルは主から見せられた幻を記録し、表しています。それがいつのことかもここで示しています。ユダヤ人の歴史の中でもっと暗い、どん底の時でした。エルサレムは略奪され数多くのユダヤ人が捕虜となりバビロンへ連れ去られました。エホヤキン王も共に連れ去られました（2列王記 24:12-15; 2歴代誌 36:9-10参照）。これはおきた歴史的事実であり、本当に存在した事実の人々に起こった信じられないほど困難なことでした。しかし、神はご自分の民を忘れたり、見捨てたりはされていない、そのご計画や目的は忘れ去られていないことをエゼキエルに示されています。まず、最初には神の驚くべき、恐ろしいほどの臨在の現れを見せられました。そこには激しい嵐のような風と広大な雲があり、その中で、稲光が輝き、まぶしいほどの光が光っていました。そして、その雲の中には四つの生き物がいました。これらの四つの生き物は聖書のほかのところでも何回か現れます（詩篇18:10; ゼカリヤ6:5; 黙示録4:6; 6:6など参照）。これらは他のところではケラビムとも呼ばれ、神の現わされる臨在と深くかかわっているものです。聖書には様々な御使いや天使が神の世界に存在していることが示されています。神の臨在に関わっている御使いどもがおられると同じように、主はご自分の御使いたちを私たちにも使わされ、私たちを取り巻いていると約束されています。「主の使いは　主を恐れる者の周りに陣を張り　彼らを助け出される」（詩篇34:7 JSS2017）。しかし、神はモーセの要望に応えて、ご自分の臨在を共に登らせると約束しました。「主は言われた。「わたしの臨在がともに行き、あなたを休ませる。」15モーセは言った。「もしあなたのご臨在がともに行かないのなら、私たちをここから導き上らないでください」（出エジプト記 33:14-15 JSS2017）。私たちの最も暗い、どん底の時にも、神の臨在と、神の御使いがともにおられることを忘れてはなりません。

Eze 1:2-3  On the fifth of the month—it was the fifth year of the exile of King Jehoiachin— 3 the word of the LORD came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, by the Kebar River in the land of the Babylonians. There the hand of the LORD was upon him.

Observation

Ezekiel is recording the visions that the Lord God is revealing to him.  He gives the time frame when this occurred.  It was during an especially dark and low time in Israel’s history.   Jerusalem has been ransacked and many Jews carried away to Babylon as captives, including the King Jehoiachin (see 2King 24:12-15; 2Chro 36:9-10).  This is a real time in history with real people going through unbelievably difficult times.  And yet God show that he has not abandoned his people nor forgot his plan and purpose.  He begins by showing Ezekiel the amazing and awesome presence of God.  There is a windstorm with immense clouds, flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light (see v. 4).  In the midst of this cloud are four creatures.  They show up several times through the Bible (Psa 18:10; Zech 6:5; Rev 4:6; 6:6 etc.) They are elsewhere referred to as Cherubim and are associated with the manifest presence of the Lord God. There are many types of angels and angelic beings in God’s heavenly realm.  Just as there are beings directly associated with God’s presence, The Lord also promises that he will send his angels to surround us. “The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.” (Psa 34:7 ESV)  But the Lord specifically promised in response to Moses’ request, that his presence would go with him. “And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”  And he said to him, “If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here.” (Exo 33:14-15 ESV)  We must never forget that the presence of God and his angels are with us even in our darkest, lowest hour.
