今日のことば

エゼキエル 3:1-3（リビングバイブルJCB）　1その方は命じました。「人の子よ、わたしが与えるものを食べなさい。さあ、この巻物を食べるのだ。それから出て行って、そのことばをイスラエルの民に告げるのだ。」 2私は巻物を手に取りました。 3「それを残らず食べなさい」と、その方は言います。食べてみると、なんとみつのように甘い味がしました。

コメント

主はエゼキエルに命じました。「口を大きく開けて、わたしが与えるものを食べるがいい。」黙示録を書かれたヨハネにも主は同じようなことを言いました（黙示録 10:9-10参照）。この巻物は神のことばを描写し、それを食べることは、そのことばを内に取り入れて、消化する意味です。エゼキエルがその巻物を食べたときにはそれは「みつのように甘い味がしました」（詩篇19:10; 119:103も参照）。神のことばは私たちを養うものです。しかし、わたくしたちはそれを内に受け取り、消化しなければなりません、私たちの存在の一部分にならなければなりません。ヨブも神のことばをこのように言いました。「神の命令は食事をする以上の楽しみだった」（ヨブ記 23:12 JCB）。どれほど神のことばを大切にし、重要なものとしているでしょうか。どのように私たちを養い、強めているでしょうか。

Eze 3:1-3 NLT  The voice said to me, “Son of man, eat what I am giving you—eat this scroll! Then go and give its message to the people of Israel.” 2 So I opened my mouth, and He fed me the scroll. 3 “Fill your stomach with this,” He said. And when I ate it, it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.

Observation

The Lord told Ezekiel to “open your mouth and eat what I give you.” (2:8-9) It was a scroll.   The Lord also told John the Revelator to take the scroll and eat it (see Rev 10:9-10). The scroll is symbolic of the Word of God and eating it implies digesting and internalizing the Word of God. When Ezekiel ate the scroll, he describes it as “sweet as honey.” (see also Psa 19:10; 119:103). God’s Word is a nourishment to our whole being.  But we must take it in,  digest it, and let it become part of our being.   Job describes the word of the Lord as more desirable than daily bread (see Job 23:12). How much do we value God’s Word and how much do we desire to eat and let it strength us?
