エゼキエル 8:12-13 (新改訳JDB)　 この方は私に言われた。「人の子よ。あなたは、イスラエルの家の長老たちが、暗闇の中、それぞれ自分自身の偶像の部屋で行っていることを見たか。彼らは、『主は私たちを見ておられない。主はこの地を見捨てられた』と言っているのだ。」 13また私に言われた。「あなたはなおもまた、彼らが行っている大きな忌み嫌うべきことを見る。」

コメント

ユダの人々、特にその指導者たちが隠れて行っていた忌むべき、いとわしいことを主はエゼキエルに見せました。そして、さらに、「．．．彼らが行っている大きな忌み嫌うべきことを見る。」と言いました。それも、誠の唯一なる神を礼拝すべき、エルサレムの神殿の敷地内でとんでもないことをしていました。この人たちはこれらのことをしているのは二つの理由をあげました。「主は私たちを見ておられない」。また、「主はこの地を見捨てられた」。これは彼らの究極的高慢とあほらしさを表していました。主なる神から隠されているものは何もありません。すべてをあからさまに見通しておられます。すべてのことに光を当てて、最終的にあらわにされます。主なる神は永遠なるお方、全能者だけではなく、全知であり、遍在でもあります。イエスはこのように警告されました。「おおわれているもので現されないものはなく、隠されているもので知られずにすむものはありません。ですから、あなたがたが暗闇で言ったことが、みな明るみで聞かれ、奥の部屋で耳にささやいたことが、屋上で言い広められるのです」(ルカ12:2-3 JDB)。主なる神の名前の一つは「エル・ロイ」(主は私を見る方)です(創世記。16:13-14 参照)。主の預言者はアサ王に言いました。「主はその御目をもって全地を隅々まで見渡し、その心がご自分と全く一つになっている人々に御力を現してくださるのです」(２歴代誌 16:9 JDB)。私たちは自分をだまさないように気をつけましょう。主は私の行いを見られないと思ってはなりません(良いことも悪いことも)。神はアブラハムに言いました。「わたしは全能の神である。あなたはわたしの前に歩み、全き者であれ(全身全霊を持って、責められるところなく、正しく歩みなさい、生きなさい)」(創世記 17:1)。

Eze 8:12-13 ESV  Then he said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark, each in his room of pictures? For they say, ‘The LORD does not see us, the LORD has forsaken the land.'” 13 He said also to me, “You will see still greater abominations that they commit.”

Observation

Ezekiel is shown the very abominable and detestable things that even the leaders of Judah are doing in secret.  But even more abhorrent is the fact that they are doing it right in the temple grounds in Jerusalem that is supposed to be set aside for the worship of the one and only true God of Israel.  They give two reasons for what they are doing. “The Lord does not see us.” And “The Lord has forsaken the land.” This is the utmost arrogance and stupidity. There is nothing hidden from the Lord, and he will bring everything into the light and it will be revealed. When we reduce the Lord God to the form or likeness of an idol, we delude ourselves of who he truly is.  The Lord God is not only Eternal and Almighty, He is Omniscient and Omnipresent. Jesus also warned us, “Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.” (Luke 12:2-3 ESV).  One of the Lord God’s names is El Roi, The God Who Sees Me (see Gen 16:13-14).  The prophet of the Lord told King Asa, “For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.” (2Chro 16:9 NIV84).  Let’s not deceive ourselves, thinking God does not see me, whether we are doing good or evil. God told Abraham, “I am the Almighty God; walk and live habitually before Me and be perfect (blameless, wholehearted, complete).” (Gen 17:1 AMP).
