エゼキエル 14:3,6 （新改訳 SKY2017） 「人の子よ。これらの者たちは自分たちの偶像を心の中に秘め、自分たちを不義に引き込むものを、顔の前に置いている。わたしは、どうして彼らに応じられるだろうか。6 それゆえ、イスラエルの家に言え。『神である主はこう言われる。立ち返れ。あなたがたのすべての偶像から身を翻せ。すべての忌み嫌うべきものをあなたがたの前から遠ざけよ。

十戒の一番最初の戒めは「あなたは、わたし以外に、他の神があってはならない」（出エジプト記 20:3 SKY2017）。主は私たちの完全な忠誠を求めています。いくつもある者の中の一つであってはなりません。偶像とは何でしょうか?主なる神が唯一持つべき位置を他の者にとられることです。それは物理的なものであれ（出エジプト記 20:4-6参照）、また、心の中にあるものであっても（コロサイ 3:5参照）、絶対あってはなりません。パウロは手紙の中で、あらゆる偶像に対してくりかえし警告しています。「あなたがたは知らないのですか。正しくない者は神の国を相続できません。思い違いをしてはいけません。淫らな行いをする者、偶像を拝む者、姦淫をする者、男娼となる者、男色をする者、盗む者、貪欲な者、酒におぼれる者、そしる者、奪い取る者はみな、神の国を相続することができません」（1コリント 6:9-10　SKY2017）。主はエゼキエルに言いました。「これらの人々は．．．罪に落しいれるところのつまずきを、その顔の前に置いている」（口語訳）。偶像礼拝の解決（解消するもの）も教えています。「悔い改めよ。偶像を打ち壊し、心の中で偶像礼拝をすることをやめよ」（6節JCB）。新約聖書には同じことを言っています。「ですから、私の愛する者たちよ、偶像礼拝を避けなさい」（1コリント10:14 SKY2017； 1ヨハネ 5:21も参照）。主の心と願いは何でしょう？「これはその偶像のために、すべてわたしを離れたイスラエルの家の心を、わたしが捕えるためである」（エゼキエル14:5 口語訳）。主は私たちの心すべてと私たちの愛情のすべてを求めています。イエスも一番大切は戒めはこれであることを思い起こさせました。「『あなたは心を尽くし、いのちを尽くし、知性を尽くして、あなたの神、主を愛しなさい。』　これが、重要な第一の戒めです」（マタイ22:37-38 SKY2017）。

Observation

The first of the Ten Commandments is, “You shall have no other gods before Me.” (Exo 20:3 NIV). The Lord wants our total allegiance, not just one of many others. What is an idol?  Anything that takes the place which only the Lord God should have; whether it is a physical idol (see Exo 20:4-6) or something we have set up in our hearts (see Col 3:5). Paul repeatedly warns against idolatry of any kind. “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” (1Cor 6:9-10 NIV84).  The Lord tells Ezekiel that any idols are “wicked stumbling blocks before their faces.”  The answer (solution) to idolatry is, “Repent and turn away from your idols, and stop all your detestable sins.” (NLT).  The NT tells us the same thing, “Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.” (1Cor 10:14 NIV84; see also 1John 5:21). But what is the Lord heart and desire? “I will do this to recapture the hearts of the people of Israel, who have all deserted me for their idols.” The Lord desires our whole heart and affections.  That’s why Jesus reminded us what the first and most important commandment is, “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.” (Matt 22:37-38 NIV84).
