今日のことば

エゼキエル 14:21,23 （新改訳SKY2017）　まことに、神である主はこう言われる。「人や家畜を絶ち滅ぼすために、わたしが剣と飢饉と悪い獣と疫病の、四つのひどい刑罰をエルサレムに送るとき、23あなたがたは、彼らの生き方と行いとを見て慰められる。このとき、あなたがたは、わたしがそこでしたすべてのことは、理由もなくしたのではないことを知る──神である主のことば。」

コメント

これらのさばきや神の注がれる怒りを読み辛いです、複雑な思いをします。しかし、主なる神は公正であり、正義の神であることを覚えておかなければなりません。主は約束通り、罰すべき者を、罰しないではおかれません、個人の人であれ、国々であっても。もちろん、神はあわれみ深い方であり、正しい、義人をさばきから逃れさせることもできますが、さばきの時にはロトの時同様、周りをすべてさばかれても、彼らを逃れさせることができます。でも、他のところでの災害や災いを見て、私たちは彼らよりも正しいから逃れていると思ってはいけません。イエスはこのように言いました。「この人たちが、ほかのどのガリラヤ出身の人よりも罪が深かったから、こんな災難に会ったと思いますか。 3それは違います。あなたがたも、悔い改めて神に立ち返らなければ、同じように滅びるのです」（ルカ13:2-3 JCB）。パウロも教えています。「4神がどれだけ忍耐しておられるか、わからないのですか。それとも、そんなことは気にもかけていないのですか。神があなたを罰しもせず、長いあいだ待っていてくださったのは、罪から離れるのに必要な時間を与えるためでした。神の愛は、あなたを悔い改めに導くためのものです。5ところが、どうでしょう。あなたは耳を貸そうともしません。強情をはり、罪から離れようとしません。こうして、神の御怒りをどんどん積み上げているのです。神が裁判官として立ち、すべての人を正しくさばかれる、御怒りの日が近づいているのです。 6神は一人一人に、その行いにふさわしい報いをお与えになります。 7神の喜ばれることを忍耐強く行い、目には見えなくても、神が与えようとしておられる栄光と栄誉と永遠のいのちとを求める人には、それが与えられるのです」（ローマ 2:4-7 JCB； 8-11節も参照）。

Eze 14:21,23 (NLT)  “Now this is what the Sovereign LORD says: How terrible it will be when all four of these dreadful punishments fall upon Jerusalem—war, famine, wild animals, and disease—destroying all her people and animals.  23 When you meet them and see their behavior, you will understand that these things are not being done to Israel without cause. I, the Sovereign LORD, have spoken!”

Observation

It is difficult to read about judgments and punishments, but we must remember that the Lord God is a Just and Righteous God. He has promised that he will not let the guilty go unpunished, whether individuals or even nations. Although God allows for mercy because of righteous men and women (here three are named, Noah, Daniel, and Job) yet just as in the case with Lot and his family, God poured out judgment on the people but saved Lot.  The Lord can and will save those who trust in and walk in righteousness.  But when we see disasters and judgments, let us not think that we escaped just because we are better that they are.  Here is what Jesus told people, “”Do you think those Galileans were worse sinners than all the other people from Galilee?” Jesus asked. “Is that why they suffered? 3 Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God.” (Luke 13:3,5 NLT)  Paul tells the us, “Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that His kindness is intended to turn you from your sin? 5 But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. 6 He will judge everyone according to what they have done. 7 He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers.” (Rom 2:4-7 NLT; see also v.8-11).
