コメント

主なる神は何に基づいて私たちを取り扱い、関わるかを知ることは非常に重要です。この箇所では私たちに対する取り扱いは二つのものにもとづいているといっています：神の契約と、神の御名のゆえ（神の名誉を守るため）。主なる神は契約の神（契約を結び、守られる神）。神は人間と関わる全てが、契約に基づいています（イザヤ55:3; ヘブル13:20など参照）。契約されたことを必ず実行し実現されます（出エジプト記 19:5-6; １ペテロ 2:9-10なども参照）。また、神をご自分の名のゆえ働かれます。名誉がかかっています。ここで主ははっきりと言っています、イスラエルの行いにかかるものではありません（良いも悪いも）。ご自分の名の名誉のゆえです。「しかし主は　御名のゆえに　彼らを救われた。ご自分の力を知らせるために」（詩篇106:8 SKY2017）。神が私たちのために（私たちの内に、私たちのために、私たちを通して）なさるすべてはご自分の契約とその名のゆえです。ダビデが祈りました、「私たちの救いの神よ　私たちを助けてください。御名の栄光のために。私たちを救い出し　私たちの罪をお赦しください。御名のゆえに」（詩篇79:9 SKY2017; 詩篇23:3も参照）。

Eze 20:37,44 (AMP)  And I will cause you to pass under the rod [as the shepherd does his sheep when he counts them, and I will count you as Mine and I will constrain you] and bring you into the covenant to which you are permanently bound. [Lev. 27:32.] 44 And you shall know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord, when I deal with you for My name’s sake, not according to your evil ways nor according to your corrupt doings, O house of Israel, says the Lord God.

Observation

It is important to understand what on what basis God deals with his people (including us).  Here he gives two things that are foundational to what he is doing: His covenant and “for the sake of his name” (his reputation). The Lord God is a God of covenant.  Everything he does is based on covenant (Isa 55:3; Heb 13:20 etc.).  He will do what he has promised according to his covenant (Exo 19:5-6; 1Pet 2:9-10 etc.). The other thing that motivates him is “for My name’s sake”.  His reputation is at stake.  The Lord makes it clear that it is not because of Israel’s actions (good or bad) but because of the reputation of his name. “Nevertheless He saved them for His name’s sake [to prove the righteousness of the divine character], that He might make His mighty power known.” (Psa 106:8 AMP). Everything God does in us, for us and through us is because of his covenant and for His name’s sake. David prayed, “Help us, O God our Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for your name’s sake.” (Psa 79:9 NIV84; see also Psa 23:3).
