ゼカリヤ9:12（新改訳SKY17）　望みを持つ捕らわれ人よ、砦に帰れ。わたしは今日もまた告げ知らせる。二倍のものをあなたに返す、と。

コメント

主なる神は償いと回復の神である。決して、不正を、不等を解決せずにおいておかない。ゆえに、私たちは「望みを持つ捕らわれ人」となることができるのです。英語の別訳で、「望みのとりこ」とも訳せます。アブラハムはそのような人でした。「彼は望み得ない時に望みを抱いて信じ（た）」とあります（ローマ4:18 SKY17）。預言のとおりイエスはロバの子に乗ってエルサレム入場されました。そして十字架の上で私たちのためにいのちをささげ、救いと義を私たちに与えてくださいました（ヨハネ10:10-11も参照）。その結果、「その日、彼らの神、主は、彼らをご自分の民の群れとして救われる。まことに、王冠の宝石がその地できらめく。なんという主のいつくしみ。なんという主の麗しさ。穀物は若い男たちを、新しいぶどう酒は若い女たちを栄えさせる」（9:16-17 SKY17）。主は私たちのために、私たちの内に働きを終えていません。必ず、約束を成就します。だから、私たちは望みを抱いて、「望みのとりこ」となることができます。

Zec 9:12 (ESV) Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope; today I declare that I will restore to you double.

(NLT) Come back to the place of safety, all you prisoners who still have hope! I promise this very day that I will repay two blessings for each of your troubles.

Observation

The Lord our God is the God of restoration and restitution.  He will not let injustice and inequity prevail.  That is why we can be “prisoners of hope” (captivated by hope). Abraham was a prisoner of hope, he hoped against hope (see Rom 4:18)  We see Jesus was prophesied as the King who will come with salvation and bringing righteousness.  He certainly did this by going to the cross and laying his life down for us so that we might have life and have it more abundantly. (see John 10:10-11)  The result is “On that day the LORD their God will rescue His people, just as a shepherd rescues his sheep. They will sparkle in His land like jewels in a crown. How wonderful and beautiful they will be! The young men will thrive on abundant grain, and the young women will flourish on new wine.” (Zech 9:16-17 NLT).  God is not finished yet, He is still at work to fulfill all of his promises.  That is why we can hold on to hope and be prisoners of hope.
