ゼカリヤ 14:9-11 （新改訳SKY17）　主は地のすべてを治める王となられる。その日には、主は唯一となられ、御名も唯一となる。10全土はゲバからエルサレムの南のリンモンまで、アラバのようになる。しかしエルサレムは高くそびえ、ベニヤミンの門から第一の門のところを経て隅の門まで、またハナンエルのやぐらから王家のぶどうの踏み場まで、元の場所にそのまま残る。11そこには人々が住み、もはや聖絶の物はなく、エルサレムは安らかに住む。

コメント

これらの預言のことばをどのように理解すべきでしょうか？主なる神はエルサレムの町に対して、自然的（物理的）と霊的に目的と計画を成就されます。エルサレム、特にシオンは「…主の聖なる山、私たちの神の都…大王の都」と呼ばれています（詩篇48:1-2；マタイ5：35参照）。最終的には地上における神の王座の都となります（黙示録21-22参照）。エルサレムとそこに起こることに注目し注意をすべきですが、同時に、贖われた者の集い、教会も「新しいエルサレム」とも呼ばれています（へブル12：22-24参照）。主は明確に詳細までも、エルサレムに対する、自然的成就も、霊的成就も全うされます。そして、私たちは大いに驚き、圧倒されるでしょう。黙示録の最後にこのことについて語られています。「私は、この都の中に神殿を見なかった。全能の神である主と子羊が、都の神殿だからである。23都は、これを照らす太陽も月も必要としない。神の栄光が都を照らし、子羊が都の明かりだからである。24諸国の民は都の光によって歩み、地の王たちは自分たちの栄光を都に携えて来る。25都の門は一日中、決して閉じられない。そこには夜がないからである。26こうして人々は、諸国の民の栄光と誉れを都に携えて来ることになる」（黙示録21:22-26 SKY17）。

Zec 14:9-11 (ESV) And the LORD will be king over all the earth. On that day the LORD will be one and his name one. 10 The whole land shall be turned into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem. But Jerusalem shall remain aloft on its site from the Gate of Benjamin to the place of the former gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses. 11 And it shall be inhabited, for there shall never again be a decree of utter destruction. Jerusalem shall dwell in security.

Observation

How are we to understand prophetic words like this?  The Lord God has a plan and purpose for the city of Jerusalem which He will fulfill both naturally and spiritually. Jerusalem and specifically Zion is called “The City of the Great King” (see Psa 48:2; Matt 5:35).  Ultimately it will be the place of God’s Throne here on earth (see Rev 21-22). We need to keep our eyes on Jerusalem and what happens there because of what he has promised, but the church and the redeemed are also called the New Jerusalem, “But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, 23 to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, 24 to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.” (Heb 12:22-24 NIV84)  God will perfectly fulfill both the natural and spiritual promises and we will be amazed. “I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. 26 The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. 27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” (Rev 22:22-26 NIV84)
