2ヨハネ 1:3 （新改訳SKY17）　父なる神と、その御父の子イエス・キリストから、恵みとあわれみと平安が、真理と愛のうちに、私たちとともにありますように。

私たちはクリスチャン信仰を生き抜くためにはいくつかのカギのことばがあります：恵み、あわれみ、平安（シャローム）、真理、愛。キリストにある信仰を生きるために一つ一つ不可欠です。恵み：神の愛顧、善意、助け、親切、善良。これは神が無償に私たちに与えるものです（1コリント 15:10; エペソ 2:8; 2テモテ 1:9など参照）。あわれみ：慈悲、愛、思いやり、赦し。当然受けるべきさばきを控えることです （ローマ 9:15, 23; テトス 3:6; へブル4:16など参照）。平安（シャローム）：完全、全き、平穏、落ち着き、確信、安らぎ。イエスは言いました。「わたしはあなたがたに平安（シャローム）を残します。わたしの平安を与えます。わたしは、世が与えるのと同じようには与えません。あなたがたは心を騒がせてはなりません。ひるんではなりません」（ヨハネ 14:27 SKY17; ローマ5:1; エペソ 2:14-17; コロサイ 3:15なども参照）。これらのものは主イエスが与えてくださっているものです。しかし、私たち自ら選んで持たなければならないものは真理と愛です。真理を信じ、握らなければなりません（ヨハネ14:6: エペソ 1:13など参照）。愛はすべての核心です。ヨハネのメッセージは神を愛し、互いに愛し合いなさいです（1ヨハネ 4:7,11,12 参照）。

(MSG)  Let grace, mercy, and peace be with us in truth and love from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, Son of the Father!

Observation
There are certain key words that are very important in living out our lives of faith: grace, mercy, peace, truth and love.  Each one is absolutely necessary to our faith in Jesus Christ.  Grace: God’s favor, goodwill, help, kindness, and excellence; this is what God has given. (see 1Cor 15:10; Eph 2:8; 2Tim 1:9 etc.)  Mercy: benevolence, love, compassion, forgiveness; withholding the judgment we all deserve. (see Rom 9:15, 23; Tit 3:6; Heb 4:16 etc.)  Peace: wholeness, tranquility, calmness, quite confidence, heavenly rest. Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:2;7 NIV84; see also Rom 5:1; Eph 22:14-17; Col 3:15 etc.). These are what the Lord gives us.  Then we are to live it out in truth and love, which are choices we must make.  We must believe and hold on to the truth. (see John 14:6; 17:17; Eph 1:13 etc.) Love is the heart of everything, John’s message is Love God, Love one another (see 1John 4:7,11,12 etc.)
