マタイ3:2 （リビングバイブルJCB）　「悔い改めて、神に立ち返れ。神の国が近づいたからだ。」

コメント
バプテスマのヨハネが初めに語り始めたメッセージであり、メシヤなるキリストの出現のために人々の心を整えようとしていました。長年間、神は何も語ることなく、神からの啓示もありませんでした。しかし、主は人々をご自分のところに呼び戻していました。これは、創造主なる神との関係の回復に至る第一歩です。興味深いことに、これはまた、イエスの最初のメッセ－ジでもありました。「その時から、イエスは宣教を始められました。「悔い改めて神に立ち返りなさい。神の国が近づいているから」（マタイ 4:17 JCB）。しかし、悔い改めるというのはただ罪や過ちを悔いることだけではなく、改まることが核心です。それは、まず、考え方を変えることから始まります。そして、生き方、私たちの歩みの方向を変えることです。主なる神に向くことです。神と歩むための第一歩です。これは未信者やノンクリスチャンに対するメッセージだけではなく、クリスチャンに対することばでもあります。イエスは黙示録の七つの教会に手紙を送ったときにはほとんどの教会にこのことを言いました（黙示録2:5, 16, 21-22; 3:3など参照）。ペテロもその手紙の中で私たちに言いました。「再び主がおいでになるという約束がなかなか実現しないので、いったいどうなっているのかと思うかもしれません。しかし主は、いたずらに日を延ばしておられるのではありません。一人でも滅びないように、すべての人が悔い改めるために必要な時間を与えようと、忍耐して待っておられるのです」（２ペテロ 3:9 JCB）。

Observation
This was the message that John the Baptist began preaching to prepare people for the appearing of the Messiah.  For many years there has not been any message or revelation from God, but now the Lord is calling the people back to himself and to his ways.  This is the first step in restoring a proper relationship with our Creator God. Interestingly, this was also the first message of Jesus, “From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near. “” (Matt 4:17 NLT)  But to repent is not just of feel guilty and confess sin.  It is changing the way we live, beginning with the way we think.  What we think and believe affects every area of our lives.  But the core essence of repentance is a change of the direction of our lives.  It is to turn back to God, to turn our face and direction to him and to seek to follow him in every area of our lives.  This is the first step to walking with the Lord.  Jesus used this word repeatedly when talking to the churches of Revelation. (Rev 2:5,16, 21-22; 3:3 etc.) This was a warning to Christians.  Peter tells us in his letter, “The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.” (2Pet 3:9 NLT)
