マタイ 21:28-31 （新改訳SKY17）　ところで、あなたがたはどう思いますか。ある人に息子が二人いた。その人は兄のところに来て、『子よ、今日、ぶどう園に行って働いてくれ』と言った。29兄は『行きたくありません』と答えたが、後になって思い直し、出かけて行った。30その人は弟のところに来て、同じように言った。弟は『行きます、お父さん』と答えたが、行かなかった。31二人のうちのどちらが父の願ったとおりにしたでしょうか。」彼らは言った。「兄です。」イエスは彼らに言われた。「まことに、あなたがたに言います。取税人たちや遊女たちが、あなたがたより先に神の国に入ります。

父なる神とそのことばに従順であることは、ただ口先で言うことだけではなく、私たちの行いによって実行することです。信じるだけではなく、また、語るだけでもなく、私たちがどのように生きるのか、どのように行動するのかが重要です。イエスは別のたとえでもこのことを教えました。「ですから、わたしのこれらのことばを聞いて、それを行う者はみな、岩の上に自分の家を建てた賢い人にたとえることができます。．．．26また、わたしのこれらのことばを聞いて、それを行わない者はみな、砂の上に自分の家を建てた愚かな人にたとえることができます」（マタイ7:24,26 SKY17）。聞く、語るだけではなく、行動も伴わなければ従順とは言えません。実践に移すことが最も重要です。ヤコブの手紙ではこのように説明しています。「同じように、信仰も行いが伴わないなら、それだけでは死んだものです。18しかし、「ある人には信仰があるが、ほかの人には行いがあります」と言う人がいるでしょう。行いのないあなたの信仰を私に見せてください。私は行いによって、自分の信仰をあなたに見せてあげます。19あなたは、神は唯一だと信じています。立派なことです。ですが、悪霊どもも信じて、身震いしています」（ヤコブ 2:17-19 SKY17）。神のことばに対して、「はい、アーメン」と応答しましょう。そしてその後、行いを持って実行しましょう（ヤコブ 1:23-25も参照）。

Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you.

Observation
Obedience and doing the Father God’s will is not in what we say but in what we do. It is not just what we believe. How we live it out and our actions show what our true faith is.  Jesus gave the story of the wise builder and the foolish builder to also illustrate this point.  “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock…And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.” (Matt 7:24,26 NIV84).  It is not either or, but rather both, our faith and what we say, and what we do, how we put it into practice. James explains it this way, “In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.” (Jam 2:17-19 NIV84). Let respond to God and his word with, “Yes, Amen”, but also go and do it (see also Jam 1:23-25).
