エペソ 5:31-33 （新改訳JSS2017）　「それゆえ、男は父と母を離れ、その妻と結ばれ、ふたりは一体となるのである。」32この奥義は偉大です。私は、キリストと教会を指して言っているのです。33それはそれとして、あなたがたもそれぞれ、自分の妻を自分と同じように愛しなさい。妻もまた、自分の夫を敬いなさい。

結婚関係は創造主ご自身が初めから造り、定められたものです。男を、それから後に女を創造されたときから、この結婚関係を御自分と人間との関係を現すために定めました。アダムとエバの堕落はこの関係を崩されましたが、神と人間の関係に関する神の願いは消えませんでした。その時から、贖いの働き（プロセス）が始められ、最終的にこの関係を可能とされるために動き出しました。「キリストが教会を愛し、教会のためにご自分を献げられたように、あなたがたも妻を愛しなさい。26キリストがそうされたのは、みことばにより、水の洗いをもって、教会をきよめて聖なるものとするためであり、27 ご自分で、しみや、しわや、そのようなものが何一つない、聖なるもの、傷のないものとなった栄光の教会を、ご自分の前に立たせるためです」（25-27節 JSS2017）。ゆえに、結婚関係は非常に大切です。神がキリストと教会を通してあらわしている関係を私たちの結婚を通して反映すべきです。最終的に黙示録の終わりにその完成が見られます（黙示録21:1-7参照）。サタンもこのことを知っていて、何としてでも、結婚と男の姿と女の姿を暗まし、破壊しようとしています。結婚の麗しさは二つのことばでまとめられています。「愛と尊敬」です。「そこで、もう一度言います。夫は妻を、自分の体の一部のように愛しなさい。そして妻は、夫を心から尊敬し、従いなさい」（33節 JCB）。

Eph 5:31-33 NIV84  “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” 32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Observation

Marriage was created and ordained by God from the very beginning.  When God created man and then the woman, He established the marriage relationship to reflect how he wanted to relate with mankind.  The fall destroyed the relationship but not God’s desire to have an intimate relationship with man.  He set in motion the redemptive process that would once again make it possible.  “…Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.” (v.25-27).  For this reason the marriage relationship is very important. We are to reflect what God desired and will ultimately have through Christ and the church.  This is the final picture we see in Revelations (see Rev 21:1-7).  Satan knows this and is doing everything possible to destroy man and woman and marriage.  The beauty of marriage and how it is to be, is summed up in two words: Love and Respect. “So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.” (v.33 NLT)
