箴言 （知恵の泉）16:24 親切なことばははちみつのように甘く、人々を元気づけます。

誰であれ、親切なことばを好みます。不親切なことばは簡単に語られますが、簡単に取り戻せません。親切なことばは波紋を広げ、周りの者にいのちと力を与えます。神も親切なことばを語り、御使いたちにも親切なことばを語ります。「主は、私のそばに立っている御使いに答えて、慰めと確信に満ちたことばを語りました」（ゼカリヤ 1:13 JCB）。その結果、御使いは慰めと励ましのことばを語りました (ゼカリヤ 1:14-17 参照）。私たちも親切なことばを語るときに、それを聞く人たちもさらに他の人たちに親切なことば、慰めと励ましのことばを語ります。神はいのちを与え、潤すことばを語られます。「私のおしえは雨のように下り、私のことばは露のように滴る。若草の上の小雨のように。青草の上の夕立のように」（申命記 32:2 JSS2017）。イエスも慰めと励ましのことばを語りました。「平安があなたがたちあるように。．．．平安があなたがたにあるように。父がわたしを遣わされたように、わたしもあなたがたを遣わします。．．．聖霊を受けなさい」（ヨハネ20:19-22 JSS2017）。また、言いました。「わたしがあなたがたに話してきたことばは、霊であり、またいのちです」（ヨハネ6:63 JSS2017）。親切なことば、いのち与えることば、励ましと力を与えることばを語りましょう。「互いに親切にし、心のやさしい人になりなさい」（エペソ 4:32 JCB）。

(MSG) Gracious speech is like clover honey– good taste to the soul, quick energy for the body.

Observation

Everybody enjoys kind words.  It can be easy to speak unkind words but they are not easily retracted.  Kind words reverberate on and on and give life and strength to others.  God speaks kind words even to angels, “And the LORD spoke kind and comforting words to the angel who talked with me.” (Zec 1:13 NLT)  In turn the angel spoke comforting and encouraging words to Zechariah (see 1:14-17).  When we speak kind words, it encourages others to speak kind and encouraging words to others.  God’s words are lifegiving and refreshing, “Let my teaching fall on you like rain; let my speech settle like dew. Let my words fall like rain on tender grass, like gentle showers on young plants.” (Deut 32:2 NLT)  Jesus also spoke words of comfort and encouragement when he met with the disciples after his resurrection.  “Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! ‘Peace be with you,’ He said. …’Peace be with you. As the Father has sent Me, so I am sending you…’Receive the Holy Spirit’” (John 20:19-22 NLT) “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63 NKJV)  Let’s speak kind, life-giving words to one another.  “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” (Eph 4:32 NIV84)
