今日のことば
詩篇 118:14-15 （新改訳SKY17）　主は私の力　またほめ歌。主は私の救いとなられた。 15喜びと救いの声は　正しい者の幕屋の内にある。主の右の手は力ある働きをする。

コメント
この詩篇は 「主に感謝せよ。主はまことにいつくしみ深い。その恵みはとこしえまで。」で始まり、また、終わります。（1節、29節参照）。この詩篇を通して、状況はともあれ、神の救いと主の手による勝利とを語り続けています。戦いのさなかにあっても、どうなるかが不明な時も、この詩人は主なる神とその力強い御手に対する確信と信頼を宣言しています（16節 参照）。この確信と信頼は何回もくりかえし告白されています。「私は死ぬことなく　かえって生きて　主のみわざを語り告げよう。」（17節 SKY17）。「私はあなたに感謝します。あなたが私に答え　私の救いとなられたからです。」（21節　SKY17）。「今日こそ、主がお造りになった日です。さあ、この日をぞんぶんに楽しみましょう。25ああ主よ、どうかお助けください。お救いください。私たちがすることを、すべて成功させてください。」（24‐25節 JCB）。「あなたは私の神。私はあなたに感謝します。あなたは私の神。私はあなたをあがめます。」（28節 SKY17）。また、この詩篇から、イエスは引用して、イスラエルの指導者によって、見放されても、神ご自身が選び、メシヤとされたと言いました。「家を建てる者たちが捨てた石　それが要の石となった。これは主がなさったこと。私たちの目には不思議なことだ。」（22‐23節 SKY17; マタイ21:24； 使徒の働き 4:11; １ペテロ 2:6-7も参照）。将来の成り行きが全く見えていなくても、すべては主の御手にあり、神のいつくしみが働いていることを確信し、信頼することができます。

Psa 118:14-15  (ESV) The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. 15 Glad songs of salvation are in the tents of the righteous: “The right hand of the LORD does valiantly.”

Observation
This Psalm begins and ends with “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” The eternal refrain.  Throughout the Psalm it talks about and declares the salvation and work of the Lord to bring victory and overcome all odds and every enemy.  In the midst of the battle it is sometimes difficult to see how things will turn out and yet, the Psalmist declares his trust and confidence in the Lord God and that His right hand has done mighty things.” (v. 16 NIV84). There are many declarations of faith and trust. “I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.” (v.17 NIV84).  “I thank you that you have answered me and have become my salvation.” (v.21 ESV).  “This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. 25 O LORD, save us; O LORD, grant us success.” (v.24-25 NIV84). “You are my God, and I will give you thanks; you are my God, and I will exalt you.” (v.28 NIV84).  This is also the Psalm that Jesus quotes about his rejection by the leaders of Israel but that God himself has made him the cornerstone of the spiritual Temple He is building. “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. 23 This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.” (v.22-23 ESV; see Matt 21:42; Acts 4:11; 1Pet 2:6-7 etc.).  Even when we cannot see the future and how things will turn out, we can, we must trust in the Lord our God and his loving-kindness towards us.
