エゼキエル 18:12,15 （新改訳SKY17）　「人の子よ。ツロの王について哀歌を唱えて、彼に言え。神である主はこう言われる。あなたは全きものの典型であった。知恵に満ち、美の極みであった。15 あなたの行いは、あなたが創造された日から、あなたに不正が見出されるまでは、完全だった。

コメント
高慢（高ぶり）は恐ろしいもので、ほかのすべての罪の根元です。「私は自分にあって十分である。ほかの誰もいらない。自分は他者にまさるものである、主なる神を含め。」と高慢は考えるのです。神にも神の権威や御心にも復するする必要がないと考えることは究極の高ぶりです。この個所は「ツロの王」にあてられていますが、実はその背後にある、創造主が創造の頂点となる者に対して語っているのです（12‐14節参照）。この者は「油注がれた守護者ケルビム」と呼ばれ、究極的美しさのきわみとも言われたものです。みことばを通して、神は天使世界の中にもそれぞれの位を指定されたようですが、ケラビムはその御使いの中で最も優れたものであり、神の栄光と王座を守護する者と説明しています。みことばを通して三つのケラビムがおられ、ルシファー、ガブリエル、とミカエルであったと推定されます。しかし、そのうちの一つは高慢にとらわれて、このように言ったのです。「おまえは心の中で言った。『私は天に上ろう。神の星々のはるか上に私の王座を上げ、北の果てにある会合の山で座に着こう。密雲の頂に上り、いと高き方のようになろう。』だが、おまえはよみに落とされ、穴の底に落とされる。」（イザヤ14:13‐24 SKY17）。高慢は必ず、躓きと崩壊に至ります。「高慢は破滅に先立ち、高ぶった霊は挫折に先立つ。」（箴言 16:18 SKY17）。その特効薬は謙遜であり、へりくだることです。「ですから、あなたがたは神の力強い御手の下にへりくだりなさい。神は、ちょうど良い時に、あなたがたを高く上げてくださいます。7あなたがたの思い煩いを、いっさい神にゆだねなさい。神があなたがたのことを心配してくださるからです。」　(１ペテロ 5:6-7 SKY17)。創造主はご自分の栄光を輝かせるために私たち一人一人、美しさと極めた目的のために造られました。しかし、私たちはそれを自己肥大（自分を肥やし、高める）のために用いられないように気をつけましょう。

Eze 28:12,15 (NIV84)  “Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “‘You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 15  You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you.

Observation
Pride is a fearful thing and the root of all other sins.  Pride says, I am sufficient in myself and do not need anyone else, I am better than any other, including the Lord God himself. Thinking you do not need God or to submit to his will or authority is the ultimate pride.  This passage although addressed to “The King of Tyre” is ultimately about the highest being God ever created (see v.12-14). He is called “The Guardian Angel” and was created in ultimate, splendid beauty.  Scripture seems to indicate that God created at least three Cherubim, including Lucifer, Gabriel and Michael. But we see here and also in Isaiah 14 that in pride Lucifer tries to exalt himself even above his creator the Lord God of all creation. “You said in your heart, “I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” 15  But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit.” (Isa 14:13-15 NIV84). Pride will always destroy. “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” (Pro 16:18 NIV84).  The antidote to pride is humility, acknowledging that we need God.  “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1Pet 5:6-7 NIV84).  Proverbs promises, “Humility and the fear of the LORD bring wealth and honor and life.” (Pro 22:4 NIV84). God created each of us with purpose and beauty for his glory, but let us make sure we do not try to use that for our own aggrandizement.
