エゼキエル 38:2-3（新改訳SKY17）　「人の子よ。メシェクとトバルの大首長である、マゴグの地のゴグに顔を向け、彼に預言せよ。３ 『神である主はこう言われる。メシェクとトバルの大首長であるゴグよ。今、わたしはおまえを敵とする。

コメント
イスラエルは神の選びの民であり、神の贖いの目的と計画の中心的のものでありますが、主なる神はすべての国々の上にある主権者なる神です。みことばを通して、また、特に預言書の中で、主はイスラエルの近隣の諸国について語られていますが、実主なる神は地のすべての国々を知っておられ、それぞれのためにご計画を持っておられます（創世記 12:3; 詩篇 67:1-3など参照）。しかし、国々を支配しようとする神に対する反逆者（敵、サタン）がおられ、主なる神とその計画、目的を阻止しようとたくらんでいます。だからこそ、多くの国々は反イスラエル的です。この個所では、近隣の諸国ではなく、遠く離れている国々を取り上げ、終わりの時に主に対して、イスラエルに対して立ち上がり攻め込んでくると預言しています。この預言を読み進めていくとそれは最終的に失敗に終わり、彼らは大変な悲劇に合います。詩篇2篇もこのことの言及し語っています。「なぜ　国々は騒ぎ立ちもろもろの国民は空しいことを企むのか。なぜ　地の王たちは立ち構え　君主たちは相ともに集まるのか。主と　主に油注がれた者に対して。」（詩篇2:1-2 SKY17）。主はどのように応答されるでしょうか。「天の御座に着いておられる方は笑い主はその者どもを嘲られる。そのとき主は　怒りをもって彼らに告げ　激しく怒って　彼らを恐れおののかせる。」（詩篇 2:4-5 SKY17）。私たちはどのように応答すべきでしょうか？「わたしに求めよ。わたしは国々をあなたへのゆずりとして与える。　地の果ての果てまで　あなたの所有として。」（詩篇 2:8 SKY１７；マタイ28:19‐20； マルコ 16:15-16など参照）。最終的終わりには「この世の王国は、私たちの主と、そのキリストのものとなった。主は世々限りなく支配される。」（黙示録 11:15; 12:10なども参照）。主なる神はすべての国々の主権者なる神であり、ご計画と目的を必ず果たされます。

Ezk 38:2-3 AMPC  Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, of Meshech, and of Tubal, and prophesy against him, 3  And say, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince (ruler) of Rosh, of Meshech, and of Tubal.

Observation
Although Israel is God’s chosen nation and they are central to God’s redemptive plan and purpose, God is also the Sovereign God over all nations.  Throughout Scriptures and particular in the Prophets, God speaks to the nations, especially those immediately surrounding Israel and that interacted with Israel.  Yet, the Lord God also knows and has a plan that includes all nations of the earth (see Gen 12:3; Psa 67:1-2 etc.). But there is a rebel enemy (Satan) who desires to control people and causes all nations to turn them against the Lord and His purpose.  That is why so many nations seem to be against Israel. In this passage, God speaks to and about several nations that are not in the immediate sphere of Israel but that in the end times will rise up against the Lord, and his chosen people, and His Anointed One (Christ) and attempt to destroy God’s people and thwart God’s plan and purpose.  As we read in this passage, that attempt will end in failure and total disaster for all nations that take part.  Psalms 2 talks about this and says, “Why do the nations rage and the people plot in vain? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together against the LORD and against His Christ.” (Psa 2:1-2 AFV). How does the Lord God respond? “He who sits in the heavens laughs; the LORD scoffs at them. 5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and in His fury He terrifies them. 6 “Yea, I have set My king upon Zion, My holy mountain.” (Psa 2:4-6 AFV).  How are we to respond? “Ask of Me, and I shall give the nations for Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for Your possession.” (Psa 2:8 AFV; see also Matt 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16 etc.). Ultimately in the end, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and His Christ, and He shall reign into the ages of eternity.” (Rev 11:15 AFV; see also Rev 12:10-11 etc.) The Lord God is the Sovereign Lord over all the nations of all the earth and they will fulfill his plan and purpose.
