詩篇 119:124, 125, 130（新改訳SKY17）　あなたの恵みによって　あなたのしもべを取り扱ってください。私にあなたのおきてを教えてください。125私はあなたのしもべです。私に悟らせてください。そうすれば　私はあなたのさとしを知るでしょう。130 みことばの戸が開くと　光が差し浅はかな者に悟りを与えます。

私たちは神のことばに触れて、取り組むときに（聴いたり、読んだり、思いめぐらしたり、学んだりするとき）、そして神のみことばが私たちの生活のすべての面に浸透させるときに、それは私たちを変えて、生かす効果をもたらします。この詩の中で詩人は神のことばがあらゆる方法によって力強く働き、私たちを、私たちの生活を、文化を、この世を変える力があると言っています。ヘブル4:12はこのように言っています。「神のことばは生きていて、力があり、両刃の剣よりも鋭く、たましいと霊、関節と骨髄を分けるまでに刺し貫き、心の思いやはかりごとを見分けることができます。」（新改訳SKY17）。また、イエスも言いました。「真理によって彼らを聖別してください。あなたのみことばは真理です。」（ヨハネ17:17 SKY17）。聖化の働きは私たちがきよめられ、変えられ、神のみ姿までに変革されるプロセス（過程）です（2コリント 3:18；1コリント 6:11など参照）。ヤコブも私たちに促しています。「しかし、自由をもたらす完全な律法を一心に見つめて、それから離れない人は、すぐに忘れる聞き手にはならず、実際に行う人になります。こういう人は、その行いによって祝福されます。」(ヤコブ1:25 SKY17)。

Psa 119:124,125,130 (NIV84)  Deal with your servant according to your love and teach me your decrees. 125 I am your servant; give me discernment that I may understand your statutes. 130  The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.

Observation
When we interact with God’s Word (read, listen to, meditate, study) and allow it to permeate every aspect of our lives, it has a transformative, quickening (life-giving) affect.  The Psalmist is expressing in many different ways the power of the Word of God to change and transform our lives, culture and the world.  Heb 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Heb 4:12 NIV84).  Jesus said, “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” (John 17:17 NIV84).  Sanctification is the process by which we are changed, transformed and made into the holy likeness of God.  The Spirit works with the Word to transform us into the image of God (see 2Cor 3:18; 1Cor 6:11 etc.). James challenges us, “But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.” (Jam 1:25 NIV84)
