1歴代誌 12:23,38 （新改訳 SKY17）　主のことばのとおりにサウルの支配をダビデに移すために、ヘブロンにいるダビデのもとに来た武装した者のかしらの数は次のとおりである。38 これらすべての、戦いに備えて集まった戦士たちは、ダビデを全イスラエルの王にしようと、全き心でヘブロンに来た。イスラエルの残りの者たちも、ダビデを王にすることで心が一つになっていた。

コメント
二十年ほど前に預言者サムエルを通して主はダビデを選び出し、油注がれ、イスラエルの王となると約束されました（1サムエル記 16章参照）。それから多くのことが起こり、時には主のことばが成就するようなことが全く見えない時もありました。時にはダビデは絶望的になりました。しかし、神のことばを握り続け、信じ、信頼しました。主に対して忠実に従いながら、神がダビデの内にも、周りの者の内にも働き主のことばを成就するように働かれました。神はご自分のことばに対して誠実であり、忠実です。神のことばは必ず成し遂げられます。「まことに　主のことばは真っ直ぐで　そのみわざはことごとく真実である。」（詩篇 33:4 SKY17；民数記 23:19も参照）。

1Ch 12:23.38 AFV  And these were the numbers of the chiefs of those armed for war who came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the LORD. 38 All these were men of war, keeping rank, they came with a perfect heart to Hebron to make David king over Israel. And also all the rest of Israel was of one heart to make David king.

Observation
Some 20 years earlier the Lord had anointed and promised that David would be king of Israel (see 1Sam 16). Many things have happened, and there were times when it seemed that there was no way that God’s Word would come to pass.  There were times that David even despaired of life. But he kept his trust and hope in the Lord and his Word.  As he continued to be faithful to God and let the Lord work his will, the time came for God’s promise to be fulfilled.  God is always faithful to fulfill his word.  He will work in our hearts and lives and he will also work in the hearts and lives of others.  God is also able to make all things work together to fulfill his word and promises.  The important thing is to keep our trust and hope in his word. “For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.” (Psa 33:4 NIV84).
