1歴代誌 14:10（新改訳SKY17）　ダビデは神に伺った。「ペリシテ人に向かって攻め上るべきでしょうか。彼らを私の手に渡してくださるでしょうか。」主は彼に言われた。「攻め上れ。わたしは彼らをあなたの手に渡す。」

コメント
ダビデはサウル王に追いかけられて荒野を逃げ回っている間にも、神に伺って、導きを求めることを覚えました。神は答えて、導き、戦略を与えました。そして、勝利が与えられました。ダビデはイスラエル全体の王となられたことを聞いたペリシテ人はダビデとイスラエルを攻撃してきました。この時ダビデはまず神に伺いを立てました（導きを求めました）。「ペリシテ人に向かって攻め上るべきでしょうか。」主は答えました。「攻め上れ。わたしは彼らをあなたの手に渡す。」また、ペリシテ軍は二度目に攻めてきました。この時にダビデはもう一度神に伺いました。すると神は答えて、違った戦略を与えました（14‐15節参照）。ダビデはこの言葉に従ったとき大きな勝利が与えられました。その結果、「こうして、ダビデの名声は全地に及んだ。主はすべての国々に、彼に対する恐れをもたらされた。」(17節 SKY17)。箴言は教えています。「心を尽くして主に拠り頼め。自分の悟りに頼るな。あなたの行く道すべてにおいて、主を知れ。主があなたの進む道をまっすぐにされる。」(箴言 3:5-6 SKY17)。ヤコブの手紙でも戒められています。「あなたがたのうちに、知恵に欠けている人がいるなら、その人は、だれにでも惜しみなく、とがめることなく与えてくださる神に求めなさい。そうすれば与えられます。」(ヤコブ1:5 SKY17)。主は答え、導いてくださることをみことばが約束しています（イザヤ58:11； 30:21 など参照）。

1Ch 14:10 (NIV84) so David inquired of God: “Shall I go and attack the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me?” The LORD answered him, “Go, I will hand them over to you.”

Observation
David had learned to ask the Lord for direction and wisdom when fighting his enemies even while he was in exile running from Saul. God would answer him, give him direction and then victory over his enemies.  As soon as David becomes King of all Israel, their arch enemy the Philistines come to attack and destroy David.  Even so, David asks the Lord, “Shall I go and attack the Philistines?” And God answers, “Go, I will hand them over to you.” The Philistines come to attack a second time and even though David had been victorious before, he once again asks the Lord for wisdom and direction (see v. 14-15). This time the Lord gives David a different strategy and plan of attack.  When David does it God’s way, the Lord again gives him a great and total victory over the enemy. The result was, “So David’s fame spread throughout every land, and the LORD made all the nations fear him.” (v. 17 NIV84). Proverbs tells us, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Pro 3:5-6 NIV84) James tells us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” (Jam 1:5 NIV84)
