1歴代誌 17:4,10（新改訳SKY17）　「行って、わたしのしもべダビデに言え。『主はこう言われる。あなたがわたしのために、住む家を建てるのではない。10 「．．．今、わたしはあなたに告げる。主があなたのために一つの家を建てる、と。」

ダビデ王は契約の箱をエルサレムに運んで、幕屋の中に置きました。それから、自分のために立派な宮殿を建てました。しかし、自分は豪華な宮殿に住みながら、神の契約の箱は天幕にあることを心痛めました。そこで、考え始め神の臨在の契約の箱のために「家」（神殿）を建てることを計画し始めました。これは間違ったことでも悪いことでもありませんでした。しかし、神の時、神の人ではありませんでした。ダビデの心は正しく、その意図は栄誉あることでした。後にソロモ王は言いました。「主が家を建てるのでなければ　建てる者の働きはむなしい。」（詩篇127:1 SKY17）。その反面、主はダビデに約束しました。「今、わたしはあなたに告げる。主があなたのために一つの家を建てる、と。」　詩篇89篇にもこのことをさらに明確に語っています。「わたしは　わたしの選んだ者と契約を結び　わたしのしもべダビデに誓う。わたしは　あなたの裔をとこしえまでも堅く立て　あなたの王座を代々限りなく打ち立てる。」セラ　（詩篇89:3‐4 SKY17）。これは最終的にダビデの子、イエス・キリストによって成就したことがわかっています。（ルカ 1:32-33など参照）。私たちは神と神の国のために大いに夢を持つべきであり、主の御心のためにそれを実行に至らせるべきです。しかしそれは神の計画、神の御心、神の時と神の方法に基づくものであることを確信すべきです。主は私たちに約束しています。「わたし自身、あなたがたのために立てている計画をよく知っている──主のことば──。それはわざわいではなく平安を与える計画であり、あなたがたに将来と希望を与えるためのものだ。あなたがたがわたしに呼びかけ、来て、わたしに祈るなら、わたしはあなたがたに耳を傾ける。」（エレミヤ 29:11-12 SKY17）。

1Ch 17:4,10 (ESV) “Go and tell my servant David, ‘Thus says the LORD: It is not you who will build me a house to dwell in…10 Moreover, I declare to you that the LORD will build you a house.

Observation
David brought the Ark of Covenant to the Jerusalem and put it in a tent.  He went on to build himself a grand palace but then felt bad because, though he was living in a luxurious palace the Ark of God was just in a tent.  So he began thinking and planning to build a house (Temple) for the presence of God.  This was not wrong or a bad thing, and actually was part of God’s plan, but not the right time or person to build it.  David’s heart was right and his desires were honorable but as Solomon later said, “Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain.” (Psa 127:1 NIV84).  On the other hand the Lord makes a promise to David, “I foretell to you that the Lord will build you a house (a blessed posterity).” (AMPC). In Psalms 89 it is recorded this way, “‘I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant, “I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations.’” (Psa 89:3-4 NIV84; see also 89:29,36).  We know that this is ultimately fulfilled in the Jesus Christ, the Son of David (see Luke 1:32-33 etc.).  We can and should dream and plan to do great things for the Lord and his Kingdom, but we must never forget that it is God’s plan and purpose that we must pursue. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” (Jer 29:11-12 NIV84).
