1歴代誌 22:1（新改訳SKY17）　そこで、ダビデは言った。「これこそ神である主の宮だ。これこそイスラエルの全焼のささげ物の祭壇だ。

イスラエルに対する神の怒りとダビデの高慢のゆえに民を数えられた罪に対して、主なる神は「主の御使い」を使わしてイスラエルを疫病でうたれました（2サムエル 24:1; 1歴代誌 21章を比較）。主は御使いのさばきの手を止めて、ダビデに、オルナンの打ち場（主の御使いがさばきをここで止められていました）に行き、祭壇を築きいけにえを捧げるようにと命じました（21:8参照）。当時、通常のいけにえの場所はモーセの幕屋でありましたが、主はあえて、この場所に祭壇を築きいけにえを捧げるようにと指導しました（29節参照）。ダビデはエブス人のオルナンから、この打ち場の場所を買い取りました。ダビデはこのように言いました。「私はどうしても十分な金額で買いたい。あなたのものを主に献げるわけにはいかない。費用もかけずに全焼のささげ物を献げたくないのだ。」（24節 SKY17）。ダビデがいけにえを捧げたときに天から火が下り焼き尽くしました（レビ記 9:24; 2歴代誌 7:1 などと比較参照）。どういうわけか、ダビデはこの場所がこれから建てられる神殿の場所となることがわかりました。非常に興味深いことに、この場所はまた、アブラハムがイサクを捧げたモリヤ山でもあったのです（2歴代誌 3:1; 創世記22章も参照）。新約聖書からこれらのことはみなイエス・キリストの十字架による贖いのいけにえを指し、私たちの罪に対する神のさばきの手を止められたのです。「この方こそ、私たちの罪のための、いや、私たちの罪だけでなく、世全体の罪のための宥めのささげ物です。」（1ヨハネ2:2 SKY17; ヘブル 9:12-14も参照）。なんと美しい、素晴らしいキリストの贖いと恵みの描写でしょうか。イエスは世の罪を取り除く神の子羊となられました。（ヨハネ 1:29参照）。また、私たちに聖所（神の恵みの御座）へ入るための道をも備えてくださいました（へブル 10:19-22; 4:16参照）。

1Ch 22:1 (AMPC) THEN DAVID said, Here shall be the house of the Lord God, and here the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.

Observation
Because of God’s anger toward Israel and David’s sin of numbering the people the Lord God had sent the “Angel of the Lord” to strike Israel with a plague (see 2Sam 24:1,16 etc. w/1Chro 21). The Lord then stayed the hand of the angel and commanded David to go to the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite where the Angel of the Lord had stopped, to build an altar and to offer burnt offerings (see 21:18). Even though the regular place of sacrificing burnt offerings was at the Tabernacle of Moses (see v.29), the Lord specifically instructs David to build an altar here on this site and to offer a burnt offering to atone for David’s sin and to stay the hand of judgment on Israel and Jerusalem. David buys the land from Araunah for full price saying, “I will pay the full price. I will not take what is yours for the Lord, nor offer burnt offerings which cost me nothing.” (v.24 AMPC). When Daivd offers the burnt offering, fire from heaven falls and consumes the sacrifice (compare Lev 9:24; 2Chro 7:1 etc.).  Somehow David then knew that this was where the House of the Lord (The Temple) was to be built.  Very interestingly, this is also the place of Mt Moriah where Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice (see 2Chro 3:1). We know from the NT that all of this points to Jesus’ atoning sacrifice on the cross that stays the hand of God’s judgment of sin against us. “He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” (1John 2:2 NIV84; see also Heb 9:12-14). What a beautiful picture of the Lord God’s saving and redeeming grace.  Jesus was the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world (see John 1:29), and who also gives us full access to the Holy Place, Throne of Grace (see Heb 10:19-22; Heb 4:16 etc.)
