(English following)

Scripture
1Ch 27:1 (AMPC) THIS IS the list of the Israelites, the heads of fathers’ houses, the commanders of thousands and hundreds, and their officers who served the king in all matters of the divisions that came and went, month by month throughout the year, each division numbering 24,000.
Observation
David was highly organized in his administration of the Kingdom of Israel over whom he reigned as King. The military, the Levites and service of the Tabernacle (and later the Temple), the administration of the nation and other areas of life production of the nation (see ch. 23-27). Solomon refines and expands this even further (see 1King 4-5 etc.). Several notable things are seen. David put those over various areas according to their strengths and giftings. He also organized them in such a way that they were able to serve one month a year and then could tend to their own living the rest of the time. But we have seen in his zeal to organize he also began to trust in his own strength and ability which lead to counting the people (see ch. 21). Although the Lord is a God of order and structure, and we are also to be ordered and structured in our lives, this can lead to trusting just in our own wisdom and abilities. David learned the hard way that we must always trust in the Lord and we are only successful and blessed because of God’s promises and blessings (see v.23 and ch.22). David wrote in the Psalms, “May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. 6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand. 7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.” (Psa 20:4,6-7 NIV84).
