1歴代誌 28:9 (新改訳SKY17)　 わが子ソロモンよ。あなたの父の神を知り、全き心と喜びの気持ちをもって神に仕えなさい。主はすべての心を探り、すべての思いの動機を読み取られるからである。もし、あなたが神を求めるなら、神はあなたにご自分を現される。もし、あなたが神を離れるなら、神はあなたをとこしえまでも退けられる。

歴代誌の主なテーマは神の家に対する心、態度であり、これは主なる神との関係を現すものです。ダビデはソロモンに最も大切なことは主なる神、父なる神を知ることであるとい言っています。これは一度限りの出会いと体験ではなく、常に進めるものであり、深めなければならないものです。神を知ることがとどまり、進まなければ、主との関係は退化します。ダビデはソロモンに言いました。「何を守るよりも、自分の心を守れ。そこに命の源がある。（箴言4:23 JCB）。へブル書ではエレミヤ書を引用して言っています。「わたしは彼らの神となり、 彼らはわたしの民となる。11彼らはもはや、それぞれ仲間に、あるいはそれぞれ兄弟に、『主を知れ』と言って教えることはない。彼らがみな、小さい者から大きい者まで、わたしを知るようになるからだ。」（へブル 8:10-11 SKY17）。これこそ主なる神との関係の目的であり、神の家を愛ししたう理由であります（詩篇 23:6; 26:8; 84:4なども参照）。

For the LORD sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.

Observation
Let’s remember that the central theme of Chronicles is the heart and attitude toward the House of God, the Temple but this is only an expression of relationship with God.  David tells Solomon the most important thing is getting to know God our Father.  The it is not a one-time experience or knowledge but an ongoing every deepening relationship and knowledge of God.  If we stop growing in our understanding and relationship with God we begin to atrophy and loose what we have gained. That is why David warned Solomon, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”  (Pro 4:23 NIV). The more we walk with the Lord and learn to listen to him and communicate with him, the more we will grow in our knowledge of the Lord our God. Hebrews quotes Jeremiah and says, “…I will be their God, and they will be my people. 11 No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.” (Heb 8:10-11 NIV84). This is the goal of our relationship with the Lord God and the reason we must love and desire to be in His House (see Psa 23:6; 26:8; 84:4 etc.)
