(English following)

Scripture
1Ch 29:10-12 (ESV) Therefore David blessed the LORD in the presence of all the assembly. And David said: “Blessed are you, O LORD, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever. 11 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all. 12 Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.
Observation
David now praises and blesses the Lord God for allowing him and all Israel to give towards and participate in this amazing project of building the Temple, the House of the Lord God. He begins by declaring who the Lord God is. He is the God of Israel (of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, see v.18). But even beyond that He is the Sovereign God over all to whom belongs everything in heaven and earth. David said that he and the people have given willingly of what they have, but even this (all they have and all they have given), comes from the Lord. So they are only give back to the Lord what originally came from His gracious hand to begin with. This should be the heart with which we always give our offerings. David then declares he has no ulterior motive, “I know, my God, that you test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. In the uprightness of my heart I have freely offered all these things.” (v.17 ESV). And David also rejoices because he sees the same heart and desire to give among the people. In the NT Paul says it this way, “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” (2Cor 9:7-8 ESV). Let us give to the Lord and His work with the same heart and joy as David and the people of Israel.
