(English following)
(https://youtu.be/j3p-LWuDxJ4?si=W8KO1oDbOh4GZqGr)。

Scripture
Phm 1:15-16 NIV84 Perhaps the reason he was separated from you for a little while was that you might have him back for good— 16 no longer as a slave, but better than a slave, as a dear brother. He is very dear to me but even dearer to you, both as a man and as a brother in the Lord.
Observation
The epistle of Philemon is a personal letter from Paul, who is in prison, writing to a man who is a householder and a key house leader in the church of Colossae. He is a man of some wealth and status who also owned slaves, a common cultural practice of the time. Paul’s purpose is to intervene and appeal on behalf of Onesimus who at one time was a slave of Philemon but who had wronged him and fled to Rome where he met Paul and becomes a believer. Paul appeals to Philemon to forgive and to receive Onesimus back not as slave but as a brother in Christ. He is demonstrating and acting out what Christ has done for us in reconciling us to the Father God and making us part of His family. Paul explains it to the Corinthians this way, “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” (2Cor 5:18-20 NIV84). For an understanding of the background and meaning of Paul’s letter to Philemon see Bible Project video, Philemon.
