(English following)

Scripture
Amo 2:4-5 (NIV84) This is what the LORD says: “For three sins of Judah, even for four, I will not turn back my wrath. Because they have rejected the law of the LORD and have not kept his decrees, because they have been led astray by false gods, the gods their ancestors followed, 5 I will send fire upon Judah that will consume the fortresses of Jerusalem.”
Observation
“God had punished other nations harshly for their evil actions and atrocities. But God also promised to judge both Israel and Judah because they ignored the revealed law of God. The other nations were ignorant, but Judah and Israel, God’s people, knew what God wanted. Still they ignored him and joined pagan nations in worshiping idols. If we know God’s Word and refuse to obey it, like Israel, our guilt is greater than those who are ignorant of it.” (Life Application Study Bible Notes) God will judge more severely those who have more knowledge and revelation of the law of God, but will judge those that do not have or know the law of God by the law that God was put within them from creation (also called conscience) (see Rom 2:12-15). “This will take place on the day when God will judge men’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.” (Rom 2:16 NIV84). “I did not know” will never be an excuse when we stand before the Judge of all the earth. Amos is speaking to Israel (and Judah) who should know better but have rejected the law of the Lord and followed lies (idols).
