(English following)

Scripture
Amo 2:9-10 (NKJV)  “Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them, Whose height was like the height of the cedars, And he was as strong as the oaks; Yet I destroyed his fruit above And his roots beneath. 10 Also it was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt, And led you forty years through the wilderness, To possess the land of the Amorite.

Observation
Amos is mostly a book of judgement on the nation of Israel.  But the Lord reminds them that it was He who delivered them from Egypt, led they through the wilderness and brought them into and gave them the Land of Promise, the land of Caanan.  There were a variety of people who lived in Canaan (some passages refer to seven nations Deut 7:1; Acts 13:19 etc.; other times it lumps them all together and calls them Amorites.) The Lord judged and removed them because of their wickedness (see Gen 15:16; Lev 18:24-28 etc.) and gave their land to Israel. However, now the Israelites have become just as corrupt and evil as the Amorites. The Lord is warning Israel through Amos that they were doing the same things the Amorites had done and would be judged the same if they did not repent. The Lord is gracious to call us to repentance because he wants to forgive and restore us, but if we do not repent then there will be judgement. “For He says, In the time of favor (of an assured welcome) I have listened to and heeded your call, and I have helped you on the day of deliverance (the day of salvation). Behold, now is truly the time for a gracious welcome and acceptance [of you from God]; behold, now is the day of salvation!” (2Co 6:2 AMPC).
